Thanks for all replies, gating method isn't bad!
How can I control reverb via MIDI CC?

I remake my question more clearly. I'd like to control the reverb/tail of sound in general...this mean for instance
When I have Sylenth1 with a long release time, I'd like to duck the sound when midi region is over. The question is the same for the reverb/delay/ ... I use on midi effects or audio region that work in even without generic audio source below (like tails)

Thinking more along the lines of a plugin for logic but not sure what it called. :dunno:
Can just assign CC to your effect etc and modulate those but better method already been given & not sure whether result be much good.
Better to do it the way the other guys described :bow:
Edit lol didnt read what you re-wrote properly sorry lol.
If that is what you mean etc in the context of FX & i'm understanding right at moment possibly might be a good option then.
As in set up sylenth etc put reverb on a send, then open Pan on envelope or volume etc and modulate envelope with desired source etc

Actually it's quite simple if you are using ableton. I don't know about the other daws, but you should try.

    1. So you have the actual channel which has a reverb on it let's say this channel is called "Lead"

    2. Duplicate the channel and rename the other one "Ghost Lead" and mute it.

    3. Put Gate on the "Lead" channel

    4. Select sidechain mode and choose (Audio Form) "Ghost Lead / Post Fx "

    5. Adjust threshold for your taste

    6. Voila !

Yeah, how about a switch: cut/fade + fade time knob + possibly tension (slope bend) next to the reverb module in one place?

If I get you correctly, you can control it with MIX (wet/dry) knob or TAIL by the traditional method of assigning your fader of your controller (midi keyboard that has faders or a usb mixer's fader) and then controlling the assigned knob manually with that fader. Most daws have this feature of right click on the desired parameter (in this case, e.g., mix knob) then move the fader on your controller which will automatically assign that parameter to the fader.

With my limited knowledge, I can't think of any daw where 'midi' regions could be assigned to reverb parameters however,
    - in Reaper, you can put reverb on that specific midi region then unassign it. May be this feature also exists in Logic
    - like @Pinkman and others suggested, convert the desired midi region to audio. Duck, fade out, terminate the volume
    - manually open the mix knob envelop and just fade out the 'mix' line
    - as someone said, side chain the reverb mix or tail

Imo there are only alternative methods but there may be something exactly how you want. If you find, share with us.

Another advantage of having a dedicated thing for the reverb in a VST synth is that way the cutoff is pre-reverb. This means once the note is stopped, no reverb is being calculated (less CPU usage), and also if you have a next note coming, you won't be turning up the tail of the previous one.

Thanks, I come up with reverb busses, so i make a first bounce of the dry sound or simply use dry signal and put a Gate on main lead and reverb bus, Thanks!
How about VST releases/reverb/delay (inside Sylenth1 or Spire for example)? How can i gate them? [i sometimes work with wet sounds from vsts]
