Years back, a friend handed me a stack of DVDs which had about 40 gigs of vocal tracks from recordings that were made in the 70s and early 80s. It was the actual vocal tracks (soloed), not someone trying to remove the vocals (center) with software.

While relocating my studio, some items went missing, these DVD being in one of the boxes that just "went away". So that was about 6 years ago and I guess I am like over it, but I have no idea where to start looking for something like this.

Vocal tracks are available......they go by the name of 'acapellas'. Search at AUDIOZ? They're usually modern junk I've never even heard of.......

I have some Jacksons and Bowie, but I'd like more. I want whatever was on those DVDs you lost. :D

I have a lot on pirate vinyl, these were a "series" that lasted from about the mid 80s 'till the mid 90s. I keep a lot on one of my hds for reference and occasional sampling/remixes from time to time, so pm me if you are looking for something and i will share

If you google "acapella tracks" it will bring up some websites where you can download mp3 versions of well known acapellas (and some minor hits too) of the 70s,80s,90s and up to early 2k. From mid 70s James Brown, MJ etc to 2k Aguilera, Anastasia and anything in between can be found as long as the acapella has been "released" somehow. Beware, have your firewall and av on at all times when visiting these websites, as they usually contain links and popups to malicious or fishing domains. Also youtube has a lot of these as well. Alternately, Usenet has a whole bunch of acapella tracks too and even at uncompressed .flac format if you know where to look.
