What Portable External Hard Drive Should I Use To Store My Kontakt Libraries?

    Exactly. The OS disk and at least one more project/record-to disk is where to throw the money at.

    After an extensive search I settled on the Mercury Elite Pro.. very sturdy enclosure, external power supply , and comes in variants to suit your needs... they have this 2TB model that would cover you...

    I bought a cheaper one for my Windows laptop...not sure if it is 7200, probably not, since it didn't state that explicitly,
    but still has made all the difference in the performance of Kontakt in my DAW. I waited too long..and dealt with a lot of
    aggravating crackly play, until I got this unit. Couldn't be happier with it, and my instruments play smooth as silk.

    I'm definitely considering getting another one for the iMac...

    i use a samsung 2tb portable ssd bit on the pricey side but god its good

    also if you want internal storage go for seagate sshd hybrid drives there awsome

    Okay, I have a question. What about the interface? Is USB3 adequate or should we look for an enslosure with esata as well? I used to buy my enclosures with multiple interface options just in case.
