I'm on a laptop right now but that just sounds like a pretty simple pluck bass to me. The easy version would be

    Saw wave
low pass filter on a fast decaying envelope, attack stage at maybe 10hkz descending to the sustain stage at maybe 250-450
    distortion
    reverb

    Alternatively....

Another way to do these sorts of things is to use FM as that envelope. The higher the volume of the modulator osc, the more high frequencies... so in a way it sort of acts like a filter envelope. I've made a bass this way in one of my songs recently and this sounds a lot like it. So you might want to try that as well if the basic saw wave solution doesn't get you where you want to be with it. The problem is FM is a pretty unpredictable. You might have to do a lot of experimenting with modulator shapes, modulator levels, modulator octave, etc. It's also not unlikely you'll also still need some filter envelope to get that sharp attack

YMMV. I'm not the best at picking these things apart just by listening. I'd have to do some experimenting to know for sure, but this stuff should get you in the same neighborhood as that bass

2 octaves. bottom one is a basic clean synth bass. The octave above it has an envelope on it + some other things. May be a different wave form too, I believe, though I'm not a synth guy, and can't really tell you how to set this sound up. It's just what I hear. I'm surprised there's no preset for it somewhere.

Ah good point. I always overlook that until I try to remake something and it doesn't sound right.

@sap3 what synth(s) do you use? If I have any of them I can try and make a preset for you

If you have Ableton Live Suite, fiddle with the stiffness parameter in the preset Airy Tube Bass...........

    It is a Collision preset.

Only one of those that I have is serum. I'll see if I can make it happen

This is as close as I could get in 10-15 minutes. It's pretty good IMO, though the one in the song has a little more low frequency umph. Might want to add some tape distortion after serum and/or some EQ to supplement the sub there.

The trick to that really sharp attack is a very fast, very steep pitch envelope. Same principle as drum synthesis. Once I listened to it on my headphones I noticed it has a bit of subtle stereo spread. It's either chorus or unison probably, but I went with tiny amounts of both. To improve this a bit, I recommend turning off the Serum reverb and adding a better reverb, which you can find practically anywhere.

If you're on windows add it to documents/xfer/Serum presets/presets/user

or somewhere around there. I don't know the path by heart but that's pretty close

Sure man. glad you're happy with it. I'm actually glad I made it. Pretty often i have a sound like this in mind and I've never made a template/preset for this sort of thing. These short, sharp plucks can be tricky to get the envelopes right so this'll be useful for me in the future

Well @Cav Emp your preset is perfect imo. The "something more" that the one in the song have, is probably from the mix imo. Like the "low frequency umph", the track sound SO crafted and processed, especially on the main elements. So I think your preset + a good re-doing of what the producers did in the mix on that bass might get 99.99% close to this.
