Looking for somebody who can make me the preset for that exact sound. I´m disposed to pay for this preset. I don´t mind the format: Kontakt. Spire, Serum, Sylenth, Synth1... Any of them or other I can add.

I would go for Nexus and trawl the libs. Or Serum, plenty of nice stabs and plucks for that.

Dune 2 or ZeroVector etc.. but i bet thats a hardware virus or something, been there tried that. vsts dont sound the exactly same as hardware most of the time, the oscs most of the time have a bit different shapes and hardware sounds ''smoother or creamier'' that is the problem.. i have a nice Kontakt virus ti pack (cant remember what its called right now) and it sounds just as good as this.

 

I tested all Nexus sounds. It´s not there. With Serum there thounsands of sounds... Need somebody who can make the preset.

I have some Virus TI libs on Kontakt, but didn´t listened all the sounds. If you can give more details would be so nice.

 

A quick search tells me it is a patch from Roland D-50 called "Pizzagogo" Doesn't Audioz have roland d50 patches somewhere? I couldn't find it off hand. I have xp50 patches for Kontakt, but it doesn't have pizzagogo. So, it's a layered (?) string pizzicato (a pluck)?

eta - it doesn't help that there's a pizza company called pizza gogo.

Free EXS sample patch for pizzagogo - and a pile of other stuff. EXS patches work in Kontakt just like regular ones.

At the bottom is a list of D50 samples - including pizzagogo.

The patch doesn't sound quite like full Encore du fois - it needs some reverb and filter(?). A little bit of something more "paddy" - like in the Enya patch too. But if that's the patch......it's a good start :D

The pizzagogo sound starts later. At first it's just some lowpass filter enveloped saws.

Going on what's in Yasarzu's link: D50 sounds (1987) are apparently made from a small snippet of a sample (which makes it sound "real") and then mixed with synth.

Which does sound like encore du fois - it's the attack of the pluck. But as mp3 ;(

So, that PCM sample (of pizz.mp3) combined with some 80s style plucky synth sound should get very close.

I always loved that sound/song. And Enya too. ha. Having thought about it now I remember Enya at the time and how the instruments still sounded sort of real and traditional yet they nevertheless had a fascinating unreal and brand new quality. That's pretty amazing out of a tiny little PCM transient and an 80s synth. To conjure up Celtic myths and the damp soil of the woods from just that? Wow. Presumably plenty of the bamboo sounds of the time came from similar.
