Does anyone use this old keyboard with a DAW ?

    http://support.logitech.com/en_us/product/g15-gaming-keyboard

I saw one in pristine conditions on the used market for a few €, and despite it`s age, it looks better than the keyboard I currently use.

I see that it has a lot of cool programmable macro keys that could be used in a DAW
...any drawbacks like high CPU usage, incompatibility with Cubase or Protools. ?

had it for years, never used macro once, it had problems with few games but it will work with you daw, but you have to record every macro and the assign the macro to the function you want in cubase, but dont expect to use media keys to control transport, and till i used it there was no applet or nuendo o rcubase for the lcd panel, for that you need a different device, anyway be sure to buy the second version , the first tended to loose the paint easily and had problems with leds (opening the keyboard is a pain in the ass)

My suggestion is to buy it if you find it for less than 30 euro, otherwise there are new logitech wireless keyboards with led illuminated keys for much less

I have the G19 and it's useful so far as in you have more useful buttons at your disposable..

    1) running out of Ctrl, Alt, Shift combinations for hotkeys? no problem, just bind really weird key combinations like Num0+`+Shift+Ins to one of the macro keys. And plus the added benefit of them being grouped together makes for a very organized experience, like top is all transport functions, next group is all MIDI editing functions, next all audio editing functions, etc.
    2) Like to run full screen mode but miss having a clock.. no problem, use the lcd clock , also cpu meter, or RSS reader, etc..
    3) The keys aren't fancy Mx mechanical keys, but they are a very good tactile compromise of just enough push and pull..
    4) like to work in the dark like me? no problem, the light keys make it easy to do that
    5) Did I mention it has USB ports? charge artists phones while working yay..
    6) CPU usage not noticeable on a i7-5820
    cons

    1) not wireless
    2) not easy to clean
    3) the control software is a bit bloated but very functional
    4) not able to control individual colors per key

a keyboard ain't just a keyboard when you're using it allll day..
