Why does the Dorian Mode work for Video Games?

    From your experience, what gives the Dorian Mode such a ' journey ' type sound if I can put it that way, i'm not well trained in music theory but most anime/arcade/orchestral type theme songs have that sound..

    Any insight would be well appreciated, not really a question but more of a discussion to learn more.

    You hear the two dorian tetrachords... I wouldn't say that "most anime/arcade/orchestral type theme songs have that sound"
