Cut the sample up so it's shorter. Also, practice English. It's cool that "your kick is boom", but it took me a while to understand what you're asking.

I'd say Deadmau5 is editing his Vengeance samples to sound the way he wants them to so he doesn't have to waste time fine tuning kicks, a lot of EDM producers do it, Afrojack and Steve Aoki are known for using the same kicks over and over again, which makes sense for saving time and makes your songs easier to mix live or compile for album.

Add a High Pass filter to remove the sub Hz and make use of your ADSR knobs to remove the tail of your kick.

    Just my thoughts.
    Happy holidays!!

Amplitude envelope (decay/sustain) ftw. All samplers have it.

Make sure your kick samples aren't being timestretched

Joel uses the Waves C1 in Expander mode on kicks a shit ton. I've also seen him use UAD's version of SPL's Transient Designer quite a lot. You can always sculpt away the "Mmm" frequencies with Simpler's Amp envelope or by using a parametric/hi-pass eq.

My db meter is so long the insane urge to vigorously beat it around is too damn high sometimes.

Like someone mentioned before, make sure the Loop/Warp Short Samples is set to Unwarped one shots.

There are so many different ways to get rid of the boominess of kicks. Eq, Transient shaping, ADSR, or even straight up fading or chopping the boom out of the sample. Pick one.

  12. Yeah it's always the other way round innit.

Btw, this has nothing to do with a dB-meter.
