DAW wars are the embodiment of stupidity. It's great to have options and each user should and will use whatever DAW gets them to complete projects and go from A to B in the quickest and most creatively stimulating way, specific to that individual, whether it be Steinberg Nuendo, Studio One, Ableton, Reaper, Reason, FL Studio or whatever the user wants. Flaming DAWs is futile and, like i said, utterly stupid and moronic.

this discussion is highly intelligent and if you have not at least over 150 IQ points, there is the door and keep on using your pro fools.

my dream would be to run a inbreed of reaper and ableton and pro tools on linux.

the stability and low cpu consumption of reaper, the ease of ableton and the ... what exactly did I mention pro tools for i have no idea.
linux would be another story to begin with. kinda complex... but maybe ill give bitwig a shot!

actually a friend sent me an old tascam cassette recorder and ill try to use it. brace yourselves!

Just play live, you won't need a DAW and nobody can pirate your music :winker:

I don't care what daw other people use. It doesn't affect my songs one little bit.
I also don't give a sh1t if you don't like my choice of software. It doesn't make my music less relevant to me.
See how this works? Just breathe and relax. :shalom:

Though it does grip my shit when fruityloopers, livers, reapans, cubarses, unlogicals, digit perfumers, stonars and simpletudes make idiot threads because they think their choice of product defines them and elevates their block rocking beats by association. :bleh:

Just messing with you. I don't believe anyone on the internet :lmao:

I think Ableton just kills it for my needs... I can't seem to be anywhere near as productive with, say Logic.

    fun, fun, fun...

I'm as good as married ("for better or for worse") to Logic Pro, but I like how the simplicity of Bitwig's GUI lends it an encouraging ease of use. Bitwig isn't descended from Pro Tools (as Logic, Reaper, Audition, Ardour, and others are), and isn't designed to be part of a professional multi-media production workflow, which is why so many DAWs can seem so complicated.

@muaB, correct me if I'm wrong, but my interpretation of the thread is asking people to post points that they dislike about the DAW that they use. I didn't see anything which suggests that this is the venue to lash out against other DAW users, or to lash out against a DAW that you don't use.

A quick strip search on entry would solve that problem. I'd ban iPhones too (only Android allowed) :winker:

I agree with you whole heartedly, but all the good music making apps are on iOS unfortunately. Andriod development is so slow.

Cakewalk Pro on the Mac sucks.

In all seriousness, I haven't found a DAW I've been 100 percent comfortable with since Vision DSP on Mac OS 9.2.2. Digital Performer, for me, is still the gold standard for MIDI and film scoring ... but it's less than great for audio. I now have PT 12, but I haven't really messed around with it yet (and it's hard to get enthusiastic about it when most of my plugs and VIs won't work with it unless I go through Blue Cat Patchwork).

I wish Ableton would be less CPU hungry, and I wish there instruments didn't sound like my farts. I wish Bitwig could Bounce in Place whilst keeping the midi like Studio One. I wish Studio One didn't look like a hernia exploded on my screen. I wish Logic would let me enter a fucking note by double clicking (Seriously apple?). I wish I could just sit and use Reaper, but for some reason I don't know why, I rage quit after 15 minutes.

That's what I hate about all the DAW's I use. I'm surprised I ever get anything done.

The midi editing in all modern DAWs is primitive compared to what was avaliable years ago (Opcode Studio Vision/ all the amiga midi sequencers).

Oh, I've seen that before. It was in a studio in Copenhagen a few years ago. There was a producer making hiphop instrumentals with it. Looked and sounded interesting to say the least.
