<Houston, we have a problem>

A new iLok License Manager has been released and seems it does not like my OS (Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit). The update fails every time and the old Manager has been deleted. So i need the version before the current one (current is v3.1.3_r35733). At the moment I cannot use any of my Soundtoys VST and I am absolutely stuck... and it's saturday f@@k.

Note:
The installer fails because it needs an updated MS Windows version... even if Windows is updated.

ilok installer ? I don't even have an updated windows, I haven't updated since installation day which was months ago, I'm offline....
You could try this : install a product that includes an older built of ilok manager. A recent one. Like nectar latest update, a recent izotope product. I can't remember if soundtoys has an ilok manager bundled in, but it should be the case. If you uninstall the bundle and reinstall and ilok maanager isn't installed it should install automaticely.
Also don't forget to reboot after you deintall or reinstall your ilok manager , it might be a conflict if you haven't rebooted.

Ok you're trying to install the latest. It says your plugs will still work with the 2.6, you probably should ski^p the update if the latest doesn't live well with your actual setup. I have the 3.1 which isn't the latest and it works fine. As long as it's above 2.5 it's good it seems.

Edit : and regarding the updates in windows maybe it's also the optional updates that you need to have installed. But I'm not sure, I don't have the latest ilok manager update.

 

The v2.6 is the one you gave me. I'm going to contact iLok, tomorrow morning, and warn them about the issue.

 

Yeah that's strange...Did you blacklist some windows updates the infamous KBXXXXXXX etc the ones that spy ?...Maybe one of those has to be installed...the ilok staff will figure it out hopefully !

Hey, @Talmi.

I have been trying to resolve this issue and haven't rectified it, yet. It's hard to find a MAC solution online. And, what was suggested didn't change the issue. Could you please send me the 2.6 installer, as well?

Thanks and happy new year to you too. I still have the 2.6 but it's the win64 package only, if you have a Mac I doubt it will work, if you want it I'll send it to you though no problem, just let me know.
If it's not the case I think if you have any soundtoys official installers that came out before a couple of months ago, it should automaticely install ilok if there isn't already ilok manager installed on your system, and it shouldn't be the latest that seems to be problematic. Or any ilok manager running product. I quoted izotope and I think they have the same behavior, but I'm not a hundred percent sure, I usually install them after I've installed ilok manager, but soundtoys always has that behavior when I install it.

 

Aaah, yeah. Windows won't work. I'm going to have to write them and wait until iLok's holiday break is over. I tried variations of reinstalls, uninstalls, and reboots to no avail.
