Perhaps its because im a mac noob, but how do you uninstall a vst.

I never want to see this vst again, how do i make sure its gone?


Uninstaller apps from the appstore are kind of shite from what i have learned so far

 

Go to your main hard drive - library - audio - plugins - vst then main hard drive - library - audio - plugins - vst3 you can also check your user folder same places just in case something went in there but that should do it for you.

 

Google how to uninstall the said program. There maybe files you may need to delete in other folders to do a complete uninstall. Just removing the files nycdl mentioned maybe some files but you may have file remanences you don't know about.

If it's a app in your applications folder you can download app delete which will delete all files accosiated to the program.

 

Delete it from your library/Audio/Plugins folder and also check for presets and so on in Library/Applicationsupport. Look around for a folder from the manufacturer there.

Also check in User/Library/Audio/Plugins and also User/Library/Applicationsupport. Each company has it's own preference for placing files around your computer.

By default the User/Library is hidden so you have to reveal it.

It is a similar process for the last few OS X versions.

 

You just need to install Appdelete. So you right click on vst, you want to delete, and sent to appdelete. Appdelete will find all related and associated files and show you... so you click delete.

 

actually the de-install programs for osx are not bad at all. the shark one and appledelete work splendidly.

but for the ones who know their os and computer its pretty easy to know what folders are the common ones as named further up

 

Actually what ladice said! AppleDelete is a good way its finds all paths, preferences plugs ect.. to delete it all
not sure why they don't use a app like windows were you can just uninstall something but, apple delete will do
