Hello,

what good plugins would you recommend for creating visual effects based on audio, preferably in Adobe After Effects?

thx in advance and sorry if such topic is on the edge of audio world

 

There is no magic effect, I suppose. But, there's a ton of tutorials 10 minutes each with different effects.
Start from here and check related videos:

The best visualizations are the ones you make yourself (because there's human input, computers cannot be artistic as humans), although you might be bale to use soundkey to speed it up.

If you have stems for the song, even better, import all those in AE.

You can have different elements getting affected by say the kick, snare, cymbls, etc, rather thn having the whole thing being pseudo-affected by the music. Sure it's easy to do and might look OK, but I won't be impressed.

Have a look at this excellent MVs my Michel gondry, heavily music-driven. Apparently made using AE.

If you don't mind me tooting my own horn, these are two that I made. There's a lot of manul copypasta, + Motionscript, and only a little bit of soundkeys (9m). Tbh, it's due for revising. NB: I mde VISUALS ONLY.
