Because their song also has 'yeah yeah' in it, you think I've written a number one, or you reckon I'm a bit of a poodle?

If it's the first, I hope Alison didn't get trolled with videos of the Beatles 'she loves you' when she pushed her demo.
If the second, I'd honestly settle for a number two.
The third, more a Bulldog with a face like licking piss off a nettle.

    :lmao:

I know my limitations all too well, so, aside from just pleasing myself first and foremost, I just do what I can with what I've got and hope there's enough in the z grade end piece I put out to get a positive reaction, so a big cheers for that comment :like:

I like the rough sound, although it is probably due to a sub-optimal mixing process (?).
I am a little bit disappointed about the vocoder. You presented way better ones in the past. I don't mean the sound of the synth, but the clear pronounciation and further tweaking to keep it understandable. This time, with out the lyrics in the post, I wouldn't have understood one word (except yeah)

I'm curious: Why no intro and no outro?

I could only dream of sub-optical mixing processes. I just pan instruments to a bit of space of their own and make each track loud enough to not dominate where not desired. I accept it's not an ideal working method sonically, but then I haven't got the ears to sprinkle the stardust in the first place so don't spend too much time stressing over it.

There's an eight bar intro and a refrain over the out, but it's a short track. It's in your face and out again, leaving just the memory.

The vocoder sound is always a work in progress. I have a method, I tinker and experiment. Too much reverb on a too low recorded vocal doesn't help with clarity, and I agree with your honest assessment, so much so that I redid a version with new vocals about ten minutes after I posted to soundcloud. If I hadn't already had plays recorded that I didn't want to lose I'd have replaced it already.

    Hey @Aliens
I might have found two new -free- toys for you to play around with.

1.) A very clear sounding vocoder. Ignore the GUI, hear the demo provided on the linked page, and decide for yourself.

    2.)

Quote: "This Application will take a single-pitched audio source and transpose it in real time according to the supplied MIDI notes. My main motivation to create MIDI Choir was to be able to sing harmonies live, however the product may also be used for studio work. Below are some of its key features."
Again, listen to the provided demo, and decide for yourself. I grabbed it immediatly.
