Honestly.. A boring, repetitive, small, irritating, 'heard this before' type of track.

if it wasn't for the images that come along with it in a video, I would have killed it right away. It makes me wonder how people can call this crap 'music' in the first place.

i tend to disagree with all above replies... the track is awseome, it was 2001 if i remember when it was out and that made the clubs bang from all over the world, i was dj many years ago and when i played this track, the crowd always was going mad over it, with the right lights gameplay over this track, you drive mad everybodys mind in a club ...indeed, old sound, but you never heard a track that is similar to this ...Darude's tracks today sucks ...old dance music is always welcome in my speakers

...i remember a good known magazine that put on top 10 this sound from this track ...no one was able to replicate it in same way even today ...it was no1 in that top

  7. Not even the video has any redeeming qualities to me. Thirty seconds in I whacked it hard. Why do you ask?

edit: In 2001 I would have thought the same as I do now. It is and will always be boring and repetitive. There is no accounting for personal taste.

dude, it clearly says 'what do you THINK of this track' ? Each and any opinion given by anyone replying is no subject of discussion. Who are you to deny anyone a clear opinion about this track by giving each comment that is not in favor of it, a red X?? You are in no position to judge my or anyone's opinion, you're only in the position to judge your own. You hardly 'tend', you simply cannot stuff your opinion down everybody's throat like that.

What do you think of this track?
Some classic early 90's (93 I think) EDM from local florida boyz R.I.T.M.
done proper! Key changes, themes, a real digideroo, real EDM 5+ years before the sandstorm floor fodder.

Darude? Generic mainstream crammed into your ears. IMO
Sure DaRude would win a popularity contest, but... Not in a musicians eyes/ears

Well, you know how it is. It isn't the DJ, Its the crowd. Some people like to hear all the familiar stuff they know, not me though.
I LOVED it when the DJ surprised me with each mix and had me sweating the booth looking over his shoulder trying to read a label while it was spinning on the decks.(Usually a white label with sharpie handwriting on it) This was WAY before the "sync" button, lol. Twisting the spindle pegs and a finger resting on the bumpy part of the platter, babying the mix, cause the clubs tables quartz locks were fukt and they drifted like crazy.

Back in the day that was half the work for the DJ. Exposing the kids to the cool new sh!t he found that they've never heard before that could actually impact their lives and mindsets.
Now it's just catering to the masses.

Substitute Disc Jockey with Politician and sh!t for ideas and you have your analogy for the day.

What I was spinning in the mid 90's

Talk about a dance floor going crazy with some stuff they never heard before!
Ive actually mixed these songs together in my set with a Dee-lite accapella during the breakdown. No beatmaps for acapellas back then. Real dj'ing.

At the time it was released, I would have rated it my not hard enough to be of real intrest to me. I mean I used to hear it and thought it was O.K. Kind of easy listening I suppose. Although I do like it's simpleness, Which is why it's easily remembered. As a track on it's own it is repetative, but when it's mixed in to other music it works very well, as does most good dance music. I would find this less irratating to the ears than most of the so called dance music I hear these days.

Yup, mix in the "drop" and then mix out with one of those tracks you used to transition subgenres. To keep the floor/girls happy. I agree.
The clubs lighting guy used to go nuts with sandstorm. too much strobe man. more fog please

Fair enough. You also could have made a reference to any of the remarks disapproving of that track in your own comment, of course. It would have made a big difference in how you came across. I appreciate it that you took the trouble to answer my remarks .:mates:

yeah, same i remember, fog and strobe all over the track, some people got some slaps from time to time because of some crazy dancers lol :drunks:... i remember ''Party Alarm'' from AQUAGEN, Barthezz, Zombie Nation,Vooodoo and Serano stuff, crazy times :dj:... in 2008 Ernesto vs Bastian released ''Thrill'' ...another crazy similar track :speaker:

well obviously a bit agressive, i was just defending one of the best dance tracks at the time released, i remeber searching for good tracks day and night, tough time ...i like the sound its being used, and if you imagine a sandstorm it fits very well, and as i said no one was able to replicate it trully ...same with the ''Thrill'' track posted above ...its on my taste, :mates: love you all :mates::metal:
