Hello, people. I was having thoughts about writing this post or not. What the heck. Let's do this. Today it is five years that I signed up on this site, and I feel like celebrating with you, guys and gals. In hindsight, this place has grown on me and I've grown with and within it. AudioSex is truly the best professional audio site on the whole Internet. And it's not just for professionals. It doesn't rub it on you like the snobs at GearSlutz, a place where you are frowned upon if you can't relate to their high-end gear shop talk. It's a bit of everything. This is above all a genuine community where people care for each other.

In these five years, I've learned a huge lot from you, guys. I've made spectacular friends, some new and some already gone, but they all linger in my memories. I've received help from very kind people, from invites to other sites to the share of unused software licenses for the sake of reaching out, lending a hand to others. I've even been able to buy hardware from one of you, a stand-up guy who delivered as promised and really stretched to see that I was happy with the deal. I've decided not to mention names in particular because this thank-you note goes to everyone who enjoys the Audiosex experience equally. However, I have to say that all this is the labor of love and vision of one guy: @SAiNT. I may have disagreed with him in the past due to divergent thinking, but this is his brain child and we owe it to him and his vision to be at the place where we are.

Not everything has been a rosy path, and we've seen a lot of funky stuff: from posers to haters to know-it-alls who've been all bark and no bite. We've seen all kinds of rage wars, from the eternal Windows-Mac argument to politics and human rights. And that is part of the magic of AudioSex: This place has become a hub for diverse thinking and we've gone from "sorry about my English..." to "a lot of us are non-native and we don't give a damn about your poor English skills as long as you are nice." We even stretch it to "but if you want to learn some more English, we can chip in, too." This is the camaraderie that is making us the greatest place to hang out on the whole Web.

Music making nowadays is a very solitaire endeavor: just a guy and his laptop is all it takes, but just like any other aspect of modern life, we've become isolated. In that regard, AudioSex is really bringing people together, nurturing real relationships. That is what I have experienced in these five years today. I've recently joined a private recording and mixing community that is very well regarded for having a great spirit and a well-integrated user base. Well, AudioSex beats the crap out of that place. This is us. We kick ass, and I thank you all for this amazing journey, especially to those friends I've made here. You know who you are, and I appreciate the lengthy discussions we share. I've grown a lot musically and personally in these five years.

I've been reading through the forums of this website for a couple years, but only recently did I make an account. It is indeed a great place with nice people. I like it a lot.

I've read at several other sites as well as this one for several years now. This is the only one I've joined and regularly attend with the purpose of answering as well as asking questions. That, I think, says it all right there.

As first post I've been reading AS for a couple of years before registering, and this one is really making me feel good, and a part of this community, thank you a lot guys, all of you, big names, not so big ones, everyone. I'm enjoying visiting this site (to also post a bit on it now) every single day.
