I'm with @Pinkman . In the end it makes no difference what we think, what anyone thinks. It's what we do that defines us.
Love the pussy. All of it.

Thanks for the explanation. I'd heard about that planned obsolescence, I believe when someone was talking about buying a used Mac and I just thought, that can't be right. There must be something I'm missing here and it's not as bad as it sounds. Guess not. Yeah that practice alone would ensure that I never buy a Mac. Although since building my first computer I really can't see myself going back to a pre-made one. The difference in price/quality ratio is too significant.

I'm not so good in the demographics here:

I'm a Mac user who votes pink. However, my Macs are older models that still can be partially modded (maxed out RAM, SSD drives) with older OS.

@Demon, welcome back buddy. Long time no see. @superliquidsunshine, man. You've made my day. Viviane is gonna haunt me in my dreams.

Ironically, you can take an older Mac (like mine) and run Windoze 10 (or earlier) on it quite well -- that might end up being the only solution to keep most older Macs around for a while longer.

Windows 10 gets a lot of heat, and it's obvious why. But I keep mine offline and I turned off automatic updates and haven't updated since they removed access to gpedit parameters for Professional. I'm very happy with it. It's fast and stable, and prettier than 7

See, that's the essential problem with macOS: there is no "Professional" version that allows you to modify what you have installed or turn off things that interfere with your professional software (or select which updates to download and install). As much crap as Microsoft gets -- and I'm as guilty for giving it as anyone! -- they're at least smart enough to release different versions of their OS for business, home and professional use.

  11. Nowadays is nowadays, yesterday was then. Dedicated keyboard stands for musicians didn't come into existence (I am partly guessing, partly trying to remember and working off a quick patent search) until maybe the mid 1980's when keyboards started to become synonymous with modern music with the genre New Wave. About the masking tape on Don Airy's string keyboard is probably because gaffer tape leaves sticky residue that looks gross and collects skuzziness of all sorts. The keyboards of the late 70's at that time cost shitloads of money, better to take care than not.

    Same same, but different
    214652_1.jpg

Kernel Panic or KP (like what guitarmaniac said) is the proper term for it no matter what os or hardware you are on. android, ios, linux, osx, firmware and so on..........

I must admit, I've commented or replied to you with disbelief at how/what the hell are you doing with your Mac to have issues... but this week, I finally admitted that my internet has been slow to load webpages and went ahead and installed Avira... low and behold I found 5 instances of adware, and 2 viruses. I still haven't completed a full scan, only 1.5 hrs.

So... I officially apologize to you guitarmaniac64... I am truly, honestly, and genuinely sorry. : )

    NO hard feelings champ

P.S. now I AM having a weird error type prompt pop-up during every session of Ableton.

The only things different I have done lately is uninstall a 1.5 year old Waves bundle, and installed the latest one... AND of course the Avira... WHICH btw, I uninstall every time prior to opening the DAW... then I reinstall before goin on net.

Also... one thing I did, cuz I CANT STAND that the new Waves does not give you option to pick and choose single plugins... after new Waves install, I went to Applications/Waves/Plugins and deleted every one I didn't want... thinking that would get rid of them... unfortunately, the AU/VST folders in Live still show them... HOWEVER, if you try to load a plugin that I deleted from "APP/Waves" folder, it just won't load... but the others I want load fine... anyway, perhaps that causes the issue?

it has to do with a tcpblock file...

@dim_triad I am genuinely sorry to hear about your computer probelms. Wish I could help somehow.
I just wanted to comment about your avatar. That is a mean a55 looking coil build there. I still buy buy my coils premade. The few times I tried to build my own were unsucessfull. Gurgling and leaking, or the other extreme dry hits.
