Now this is so crazy that I don't know if I should be crying or laughing.
In Germany (this is important, so remember the country) people got used to "Black Friday" over the years. So a lot of companies use the term for their special offers in November. But, in 2013, the term "Black Friday" got a trademark protection in Germany through an entry in the German patent office. Here's the original:
Those who don't speak German, the important rows are the ones beginning with the number 540 (trade name), number 550 (word mark) and number 220 (registration 30.10.2013)

You could think, "well, it's an american thing, you know". But that wouldn't quite hit the point. The company that asked for trademark protection is ... ... ... a chinese company!

So, a chinese company has a trademark protection in germany, regarding an american term.

Even better, they licensed the trademark to a German company called "Black Friday GmbH" (GmbH is equivalent to Ltd). And this company currently admonish every single company through their lawyers. Contractual penalty €10,000 plus costs deriving from a value in dispute of €100,000.

All german companies are told to not use the term "Black Friday" to prevent admonishment (and indeed, they don't, not even amazon.de).

So from what i understand, in doing this the chinese actually protected the german culture from further americanization, lol.
Way to go China....way to go....ahh who gives a fuck...

  4. This totally sucks the big one [English translated to German]
Das saugt die große [the translated German into Chinese]
Zhè shǔnxī dà [the translated German into Chinese back into English] This sucks big [the translated German into Chinese into English and into German once more] Das ist super!

Warning: If everything pans out the way things are trending now and future predictions follow economic horoscopic soothsayer mumbo-jumbo, all roads lead to Beijing and every monetary deal will have similar outcomes...
    Ist das nicht einfach wunderbar?

It's time to register the word 'Christmas" and 'Xmas', :) Everyone using those words will be fined 100.000 € for copyright infrigment :)

World is going to hell and I'm a spectator. It's kinda fun when you put it this way. I used to care and I stopped caring because it is not worth it, as you can't do shit about it. Those with heaps of money in the bank could do something but they don't. So why would we? Life is short, try to live it the best you can and do the right thing here and there.

  9. I wonder if they could just use Schwartz Freitag or Black Fryday in their print ads and sidestep the bullshit.

Yeah or even freytag which would pay tribute to the germanic origin of the word "freitag" and is often used by idiotic alt-right/neonazi shysters. i'd suggest using freutag which would translate as something like happyday or funday.

Or Thanksgiving-Afterparty, or Truthahn-Freitag, or just November-Sale. But all of them are not nearly as to the point.

    +100 on this
Things will fix by themselves, give it time. There's always ups and downs, just look at history.
Focus on yourself first, try to be a good person, try to enjoy life and people around you that care about you.
