I don't hate Macs, I just hate what they turned into. Apple should either get out of the computer business or sell off their computer division to Apogee or Adobe or whoever so somebody can start making professional-grade Macs again. And I've owned Macs since 1994.

 

I don't understand the brand loyalty with Mac. It's just your operating system. Surely there are better things to focus on...

 

It should be spellled Crowleyism, as in Aleister Crowley. He though is rather creepy crawley to me.

 

From my POV, People defend Macs because Apple is religion. just like scientism

from google "excessive belief in the power of scientific knowledge and techniques." just wow!

NICE. I knew their would be somebody out there in this wild bunch of drunks. Good job. You now have my permission to go around bragging about it.

 

After my parents split up (I was thirteen and my brother Gavin ten years old and we lived with Dad which it was the way better of the options, trust me) Dad hired a live-in housekeeper to take care of my brother and I, to clean the house and to cook, etc. Her name was Viviane. She was a total trip and a half. She liked her vodka, using cuss words and doing the absolute bare minimum in the way of daily chores. She even asked me to steal her some working clothing from a local department store, instructing me how to do the nefarious deed and not get caught. Like I told you, she was a total trip and then some (till this day we don't understand how Dad came to his decision in the hire). Anyway...Viviane lived in our finished basement as the house wasn't very big and we didn't have a guest room. And although she lived in the basement I was always popping down as my darkroom was in the funky blue bathroom that was there. Well, this time as I was known to do, jumped down the steps, but in this instance I was in shock and utter amazement to land not six feet away from a totally naked BIG black momma named Viviane. My eyes must have been the size of grapefruits and I felt my face turn crimson from my embarrassment. Add into the mix that it was also the first naked woman that I had ever seen in the flesh! I was frozen solid with not knowing what to do, what to say or how to act. Without missing a beat and just like the situation was just an every day occurence, Viviane said to me these words which I will never ever ever forget..."Hey baby, ALL the pussy's pink!" which instantly released me from the grasp of awkwardness that had been threatening to squeeze the living air out of my lungs. So, with a super quick "Sorry!" turned right around and ran back up the steps, out the front door and sprinted to my best friend Seth's house to tell him of my adventure..

My vote is for Black.

Because there was a time when Macs were better than PCs. Better software, better hardware, more reliable, virus-proof, more of an artist's tool and less of an ugly, bug-riddled OS (as Windoze once was). It was worth the extra money you invested to have something you could create music, video or graphic art on. Unfortunately, that time came and went.

Today, you'd be hard-pressed to tell the difference between Windoze 10 and macOS Sierra. PCs copped, and in a few cases, exceeded the builds of most modern-day Mac computers. Apple finally fixed it so you can't even perform your own hardware upgrades in their new machines. There's also a somewhat-alarming trend with Apple now to engage in forced obsolescence, making sure that their OS's can only run in a select (and ever-shrinking) number of machines, forcing you to buy new ones to keep up. They also create a cross-platform synergy to make sure you're buying all their products (the computers are designed to work with Apple Watches, iPhones, iPads and, as of Sierra, Apple Pay). Because of the speed they deploy new operating systems (currently, once a year), audio and video programs no longer have the same stability they used to, forcing more and more professional users to give up on the platform. I'm honestly surprised they're even still making products with "Pro" in the name, as none of their products really allow their users to set them up as professional machines, and the company itself appears to have little or no interest in catering to the professional users that built their company in the first place. Given the profit margin of their iPhones, iPads and Apple Watches, I can see why.

Anyway, it's not even a competition thing anymore: if you want a decent computer you can modify to your needs and use for professional applications, you either buy an older Mac (that will soon be obsolete) or a PC. If you want an overpriced gizmo that conveys your social status, buy an Apple product.
