Google in collaboration with chrome, firefox and other browser companies wants to impose certain rules and laws.
Really?Well then....as Negan would say. "I will shut that shit down".
    Read on bellow...

"Google looks set to do what law enforcement agencies and copyright legislators have failed to do for years – ban sites such as The Pirate Bay.
After announcing its new “Repeat Offender” policy, Google has vowed to take action against sites that promote pirate, spread malware or show dubious advertisements to users – like the ones shown on the Pirate Bay and other torrent sites.
Any site that deemed to be a repeat offender and which breaches Google’s new policy will face an initial 30 day ban.
Google says that its new policy is the next step in helping to ensure that browsing the internet safer than it has ever been."

So the rest of the world is still not fed up with US government-backed tech companies controlling everyone's lives and business? I figured there'd be Google alternatives by now, other than ones in Chinese. Maybe it's just because it's so expensive.

You know that Opera is basically Chrome nowadays?

Vivaldi is made by some Opera people but I don't know it that isn't also based on Chrome...

Just do what everybody sane would do: use a different search engine for stuff like that. Google search engine is not a monopoly although they would like you to think so. I personally often use DuckDuckGo and StartPage which is really my start page, and Bing is not bad, either. It's not that we're lacking search engines... Google can stuff it as far as I'm concerned. There will always be some other engine to take its place.

There should be a search engine *only* for pirated and hard to find stuff anyway. Some "Shmoogle" or "Piratvista" :) or "PiratPiratGo"? :hahaha:

Cant count how many time I smiled/laughed reading one of your post sir Von Steyr

I'm gonna try DD Go search engine, but problem is... Im addicted to all the comfort Chrome brings, and using a search engine for privacy purpose on google chrome seems pretty... pointless.

Will this lead to Google's blocking references to the Internet Archive, where a lot of copyrighted materials are uploaded without their owners' permission?

Does this mean that Google will finally block links to and images of child-porn?

While they're at it, maybe they could prevent the Public from being subjected to Government-fabricated "news" as propaganda?

Google is going to take X or Y off their search engine ..... so what.

It is the same thing as say if you had a shop and you didn't want to hang pictures of Hillary Clinton on Angela Merkel in your shop, or any woman in a pants suite for that matter. It's your shop, I can just visit an other one. I don't understand why you find it upsetting at all. It's not like Google has a Black Ops Jet where people with super-powers fly all over the world and impose their world view on everyone else.

Duck Duck Go has already been mentioned.

You can still search Google through a proxy and they wont see you just the proxy.

Bleko no longer exists, they've been hired by IBM Watson Group to teach Watson collection and analysis of big data. That's what you should be afraid of. IBM Waston is going to rule this planet soon Skynet style. It already makes better music that 90% of the people on this planet, knows how to cook, perform surgery, great chess player, and it has a catchy name reminiscent of Sherlock Holmes plucky side man and biographer.... just like in that movie with the Austrian guy who is famous for coming back, but we'll never see Watson coming.

Meh, Watson would probably do a better job at ruling the planet than we ever could anyway.... where do I sign up?

lol... the first 5 pages of any google search are always filled with sites that trick you for the sole purpose of advertising and malware. Not actual pirate sites mind you - googles removes those. They only show you shit. Their image search is particularly awful, I've been thinking of finding an alternative for a long time.

Also, why do people use chrome when Firefox exists?

If that's the case Google will have to block the entire network from their engine to prove there is no bias in their actions. Facebook, with the phony ads about athletes using PEDs.. YouTube and all these media sites posting fake political ads and statistics. Shutting down dubious advertisements calls for blocking most of the web.
