@Cav Emp wait for a fabfilter birthday sale or a seasonal sale and buy a bundle. i got my bundle of 4 on a 50% sale and the individual plugins were actually pretty cheap in the end -i think £35 (40 to 50$ ? ?) each.

imo there are much more expensive companies with way less innovative or good sounding plugs out there.
    i think i am a fabfilter fanboy

Yeah... I don't know. Fabfilter have pretty much priced themselves out of my portfolio. I could buy a bundle but... why? I don't really need anything anymore. Even Saturn was redundant, given I have Trash 2, the soundtoys bundle, and Satin... but I just wanted it because I'm a sound design nerd.

Just thinking aloud here... Pro-L has a great reputation, but the Presswerk limiter is really nice, as is the Ozone Maximizer... and even if Pro-L were marginally better (and I'm not saying it is), it's not "better enough" for me to spend nearly $200. I think my customer discount brings it down to like $175.

Pro-DS is great - maybe I'll get it one day, but I don't need as much de-essing since I switched to the SM7B... plus I have other de-essers, including Presswerk's de-esser mode. Pro-DS would just be a luxury, and an expensive one.

Pro-C2... again, I have a plethora of compressors. And frankly, maybe I'm a u-he fanboy, but I don't see what Pro-C can do that Presswerk can't (except for a bit more flexibility in the sidechain detector but... meh), and PW can do quite a bit that Pro-C can't. Timeless... not as good as Echobooy or Relayer IMO.

Volcano... kinda boring.. if I were gonna get a filter plug it'd prob be Filterscape or The Drop. Although I'll probably forego all of that. Using Live's Autofilter in a rack is just so natural for me. It's got Cytomic algorithms, integrates seamlessly, offers ridiculous flexibility and lightweight cpu use...

The only FF plug I can really see forking out money for is Pro-MB.

It's fabfilter. It has a fancy GUI, overhyped. If it's anything like my Izotope/Ozone comparisons, it'll be slightly worse than izotope ozone 5, but use slightly more CPU.

I recently bought the Izotope Production Bundle 2 and it's essentially given me every mixing tool I could want bar a delay and reverb but I have the Slate Everything bundle (Verbsuite is sweet and waiting for their delay & FG-Stress) and couldn't help myself when bx_RooMS was released. So FF is 97% redundant for me, even Pro-R is not even close to a must buy but gawd-dem It looks good.

    T-Minus 4 hours till it's release.

what would you compare? totally different sport

I agree with cav amp on this one, only pro-ds does something really special in my opinion, but my mic does suffer from sibilance.

these guys from Fabfilter should seriously consider releasing some GUI Design seminars for plugin makers all over the world.

If it can do more for me than Space Designer im already sold

i know what you mean. they are good GUIs.
Space designer, on the other hand, definitely suffers from old Logic device syndrome. which is (imo) the worst set of GUIs on the DAW planet!

For me ProQ2 is standard of eqing. Can't imagine my workflow without it.

Pro R definitely cool plug, but I even not going to test it, because it just another reverb, may be best looking.
I'd prefer to test Soundtoys reverb if it ever be released.

Trying the demo, pretty much like all Fabfilters this is huge. Wont replace my Valhalla Vintage Verb or IRs but damn motherf ing damn. Like Pro-C2, Pro-Q2, Pro-L, Pro-MB, you see the tool in a new way. Talking sound, I need more testing but on two much advanced projects it's very promising, the character and richness controls interacts so perfectly and you actually hear massive changes in reverb tones when touching it. No need for multiple tweaking to get very sweet sounding reverbs, might be the biggest pro of the thing. Might be a con for some too...

Again, as the rest of the bundle this is also a perfect plug for beginners/advanced, because it is SO educational. Because of the graphics, the multiple hints very well explained on all parameters, the fact you have endless control/visual monitoring of the signal.

Damn I wish I had money to buy all of them and go clean on my main mixing tools but this is the biggest con of Fabfilters, the price escalate way too quickly, hue.

Will probably sound good. But when it comes to reverbs, I like less parameters more. Because the chance of fucking it up is lower. That's why my current favorite Reverbs is the PSP 2445 EMT.

Well this might be the reverb you're looking for then. Maybe not as a go to but it might suit you very well
