So today i listened to Manu Katche`s latest cd, Unstatic(2016).

Song nr. 3. Flame & Co.
There is almost an exactly the same piano line of John Carpenter`s Ecape from New York(main theme).

Just hit play.Although its only a part of the song you can hear the piano in the background.
If you have the whole song you can clearly listen to Manu`s song with just the piano playing in the beginning.

And here is the John Carpenter`s song.

    What are you smoking? :woot:

It's just a 1,4,5 chord sequence, and doesn't include the melody or extra beats in the (ace) JC theme.

If you are going to credit every song that does C for a bar, F for a bar, then G for a bar as "ripping off JC" then he's got a *lot* of money coming to him...

Yes i meant "exactly" the same with all the analog synths and arrangements.:deep_facepalm:
Piano line and the main theme are almost exactly the same.
But then again, Vanilla Ice never ripped off Queen, he did say "its not the same".

Yes, for the first three chords (the 1,4,5 bit - it's a very simple theme of course), but then the JC theme does a very specific melody with an extra 2 beats, this track doesn't do any of that. So yes, the first part is very similar to the theme, which as I said is very basic, but it doesn't do the second part (the descending theme and extra beats) so no, I only count it as being co-incdental in the first section.

BTW Manu Katche is one of my fave drummers - he's an arrogant arse, but he's certainly one of a kind and hugely talented... Absolutely love his stuff on PG's "So", for example...
