Really? Average rompler? That means there are actually good rompler now? Where, exactly?

You are doing the same error as the OP, comparing it to Serum, Spire and Omnisphere (which is not a rompler). Only the Korg M1 is a rompler and even then you can modify A LOT in it, and its sounds are dated (which can be a con/pro).

Nexus is just "pick your sound and play it" with very limited option. Is it average at that? Not at all, it's the best and will probably be forever.

BTW this Rapid looks like Avenger got drunk and barfed another synth

Modernize is the only decent ROMpler I tried. Nexus is... well, a decent hybrid rompler overpriced like hell. Would be the last software on earth to buy to me. With the same amount of money you can get 100000% more possibilititties buying tons of industry notchers.

I didn't mention money, if you bring that up that changes everything of course
I just watched a video of Modernize and well lol..

Doesn't change anything. They been around 4 years.
All ROMpler's are pick and play.
Chip on board to cram in presets with little or no option to modulate or freely express yourself without taking the instrument itself apart.
Could be good for some things like "Pick & Mix" or the bin. JMO

Oh really? Stop smoking weed mate. Where did you see i compared this synth to Serum, Spire or Omnisphere?

BTW , to all that do not understand the reason of this poll, i made it expressly to make a point : Is this synth which seems to be an hybrid between a rompler and a wavetable synth could actually be a Nexus killer which is only a rompler.

The poll is nonsense. At that is a shame, because everyone will now concentrate on that instead of learning about this very, very interesting new synth. 8 layers, each a whole synth in itself, multisampled wavetables (!), a well structured GUI (although reminding me too much on these old 90s tracker softwares). This is a very good addition to the market - and I don't care if it is killing something.

That's simply your opinion. Begining your lecture with "i think" would be wiser. Other than that i would have not initiated this post if i didn't think this synth was NOT interesting.

Oh yes. And instead of "concentrating on the synth and ignoring the poll ,who initiated the artillery strike on it?

    Not me.
That's the point you're obviously not getting (or are too proud to admit): YOU have served this synth badly by adding a superfluous poll that's only generating hundreds of "<insert name here> is so much better". Totally unneccessary and therefore nonsense.
    Yep, the poll is nonsense.

You perpetuated it with your "shame on you" post. I did not.
Again, YOU (you seem to like capital letters) think it's non sense. So me, and btw the other 16 people that participated in the poll are dumb. Thank you but i (and the 16 too probably) beg to differ.

So, i think i've heard enough of your own brilliant deductions for today. If you don't mind, let's focus on the becoming of the synth now.

And still you want everyone to know about your doings. Do as you see fit and stay silent. I will personnaly comply with that. Let's leave it like this. See you... or not.

Show me another not killer but just popular synth which costs more than 200€ and has no Mac version.

Rapid with its 3 sample/wavetable oscillators, many modulators, many layers and routing options reminds me a lot of
    ...
    Yes, Waldorf blofeld!

I wouldn't count on those multisamples though, as they can neither be imported by the user nor do they sound like anything remarkable.

And for the price I can almost get a hardware blofeld.

I think Nexus is praised a lot because it contains many familiar sounds from all over the music charts.Lots of sounds you can use that sound good.
Its a good synth if you use it for your own advantage like any other instrument.

    Agreed.
I also, sometimes, like to render my favorite Nexus sounds as .WAVs, load them in Polygon and then dream about all that could have been.

I've never tried it but at least they call it like it is and put the word ROMPLER right on the (virtual) box.

When we see the word 'oscillator', we can no longer compare to Nexus.

I don't know about MODERNIZE either. I was kind of put off by the whole Studio Linked company and their past practices.

What do you mean? Nexus can handle 64 oscillators, lol
I think they intentionally threw that buzz word in there just to confuse the less knowledgeable
You synth only has 3x8layers=24? Mine can handle 64

That $61.234375 per oscillator handler for the whole enchilada, comes with a hardcopy manual too!
