Was inspired to quickly write a mini review.
Mixing an instrumental track right now and was really having trouble getting the drum track right.
So i tried the Slate`s FG-BOMBER or as the Japanes would call it Nishi sha bum bum.

I have to say this thing rocks. This thing can sometimes even replace a compressor as it did in my case on a drumbus.
Steven claims it can replace whole chains of plugins.I believe it.
This thing models harmonics and saturation generators, filters and dynamics gear/devices.(copied from his site).
Pop it on a drum track and see it coming alive, dynamics, impact, depth.
Less is more though,I could achieve the desired result with just an 38% intensity.
The needle should hit the little bomb icon at 0db, though you can dial in the drive to your desire.
Also the tone plays a big role, so you can really find the sweet spot of your tone, present, fat and tight.
Can imagine this would well go on a vocal track.

    I love it.

    Genre?
Acoustic drums? Electronic (sample pack) drums?

    Acoustic drums.
Though this thing can do miracles on electronic/hip hop stuff as well. Its useful in every genre.
It can do so many things, acts as a transient shaper, saturation and compression occurs as well, sort of a jack of all trades.

Here is the thing, not that my situation actually represent's anything.
But at this moment it didn't found it's place in any of my vocal chains

I was asking because I find out the difference is tremendous in terms of plug-in needs when making pop/rock stuff with real instruments and live recordings vs electronic music.

By the way, I am testing (as there is a 50% discount on all Sonnox this month) the Envolution + Inflator combo. A very powerful (literally - I think it goes well over 20 dB with gain) transient design tool + saturation + extra saturation and limiting from Inflator. I am really pleased with results so far with Envolution on extreme settings and 50% mix followed by inflator (making electronic music). If you have an iLok 2 dongle, testing is free for 14 days.

I know people have a lot of opinions on Slate as a person but as for his plugins, they're actually pretty good.
I want the Bomber and a;; the E.Q.s,especially the Air/Earth series.
Hopefully after we move,i can start buying them.
    Thanks for the review.

You are right, depends what you are mixing, live vs electronic stuff.
I dont go by the book, i improvise a lot, like many.

what are peoples gripes on Steven? He has his things like always open, creepy eyes, Brad Pitt looks when we're used to nerds in this market, but those are just appearances. As a person he seems like a cool dude. Always down to earth when talking with people on forums, whether it's GS, ultimatemetal or FB group.

You can save all your praise for Fabrice Gabriel. They are HIS plugins. Slate is just the guy with the money.

I can really relate with Fabrice, I feel like he and I got a lot in common.
Having that said, I could really use my own Steven Slate!

Today i put the Bomber on a synth bass track and with only this plugin i achieved nice saturation and depth along with increased transients, really made the synth sit nicer in the mix, more impact, more life.
    Its really good.
