I was on a hackintosh, but now I genuinely do not see the point... In my opinion.

The point on building a high performance Computer with the lastet hardware for less money than a outdated Mac :dunno:

I would really love to buy an iMac 5k if all software would be Retina Ready and I could easily built in my own SSD. The model I would need wound be around >4000 Dollar :/ And than I would need to buy an news Audio Interface since I couldn't reuse my RME Multiface II on any new Mac.

I use a MacPro 5.1 6 core system now but I was on a MacPro 2.66 dual which also worked fantastic. It's all about optimization imo. No matter how fast your computer is, doesn't mean squat if you don't optimize

Hackintosh! Doesn't make sense to pay all that money for old tech when I built a 6th gen intel miniATX beast for <$900.

    I have an old 2006 Xeon 2.66Ghz 4 cores Mac Pro 1,1.
    Upgraded the CPU's to 3Ghz 8 cores 2,1, for 80.$ US.
Put in 24 GB of Ram at 50.$ US per 16Gb.
An Nvidia 8800GT 512Mb card for 125.$ US
Can install OSX 10.4 up to 10.11 on it with Tiamo's EFI 32 to EFI 64 solution.
Performance is now similar to a Intel Core i5-6500 @ 3.2 GHz (4 cores).
Pretty impressive for a computer that is 10 years old for a good price.

Sweet! I didn't the same for my MacPro 1,1. Got a whole lot of life it them once you figure out how to get past the OS limitation. Now my 1,1 system is on sale

24+ year Apple user... Switching to PC in a few months... Apple is a cellular company, their CEO is an idiot and they don't support our nations troops. Plus I hate hipsters.

  19. People be jumping ship from this bullcrap Apple is pulling with their hokus-pokus presto-chango operating system cluster fuck mindfuck bad dream scenario. I guess they don't mind loosing their original core of artists and general creatives. In the beginning I couldn't ever imagine buying a Microsoft operating system based computer, it was an impossibility. It was Apple without even having to sacrifice one brain cells in the effort of decision, a gimme and a no brainer. Times have changed, and because I am not technically adept must mitigate my ire of the behemoth for the reality of cost and future ass fucking by rotten fruit if not able to use the software I own in a couple of years if I wish to upgrade to a bigger and a better. I won't even buy their phones.
