How does the Yamaha Vintage Plugin Collection compare to the very highly-rated RND (Neve) Portico plugins? I believe they are both based on VCM Technology.

Well the Neve Portico plugins are more expensive, are they better?
    Cant tell.
They should use the same VCM technology developed by Yamaha.
    Is it revolutionary?
    I dont think so.

Both completely different i use both for different jobs, out of the 2 i prefer the character of the Portico, sounds close to the hardware but not a direct replacement.
But ... it also depends on your needs monitoring systems etc etc.

Either way you will be happy with Yamaha because of the current access :winker:

Kind of an old topic, but I wanted to hear more first hand thoughts on this. I demo'd it and idk if I was high that day but i loved it. It reminded of the few times i've heard that hardware comp. Couldn't quite crack this one.
