i keep having to reinstall my saffire 56 driver, crashes 5 to 10 mins after i reinstall everything, i uninstalled everything from the firewire drivers to the audio drivers i keep getting a no hardware disconnected error after about 5 to 10 mins of it working perfect. seems to be the firewire card itself or the mobo

has anyone faced anything like this? any fixes? advice?

 

Most audio-firewire-interfaces need a firewireport with texas instruments firmware. Use a corresponding pci-e-card with this chip.

I had this issue with my past Saffire and M-Audio firewire audio devices. I now have a mackie onyx 820i fw (I needed more inputs in a live format mixer) and it seems to work with every fw port Ive plugged it into. Some manufacturers use fw boards that are picky and need the Texas Instruments FW chipset to work properly.

 

ok so i havent turned on pc in a week or so and i just booted up and everything worked fine...for about 10mins AGAIN! i was in the daw working saffire 56 was working great. then all the sudden boom no audio devices found...does this sound like the firewire card or the mobo messing up? i think the saffire 56 is fine honestly

 

tried a different firewire cable?

tested saffire 56 on a different computer?

 

Also, using the included power supply? If its bus powered that is.
