There's a lot to the scene and nearly all of happens behind closed doors. Teams retired. That's a pretty big hit to viability don't you think? Not over Cat directly. But over the issues that Cat was trying to make a stand on. Some might argue he made this bad decision or was rude that time. But his MOTIVATION WAS always good.

The sister site isn't the scene. Its the public face.

 

BTW in response to the guy who asked about the nasty ratings: that used to be a "Dumb" rating. Lots of people still use it as if it were still "Dumb". Personally I think it makes them look dumb. I've always interpreted it as: "You've frustrated me, but I don't have the skill set to adequately express myself with words. So I'm going to subtract an arbitrary internet point from your meaningless score"

I usually picture the vote being cast with a sort of petulant wrist flicking motion and a high pitched "Eh!"

That oughtta put a smile on your face the next time you get nasty/dumb voted

if there was a problem with request whining..and there was.. it has been pretty effectively handled here to the present

 

Cat seemed OK for a long time, but then his actions became so inconsiderate when he broke the rules he himself has written. I disliked one of his posts in which he directly attacked one of our former member and also @Kwissbeats. He then proceed to remove the dislike and complained to SAiNT that I as a young moderator dared to disagree with him.
Since he wanted to have one copy of AudioSexed album and he requested it in a rather ill time when I was leaving abroads, I just sent him the CD in advance. And he never paid for it. That's the uncut version of what happened.

Back to @LV4-26 's question (former LV-426 here and on AZ I presume), No idea - he blocked PMs from regular members. Mods can still PM him, but there's no guarantee he'll read or reply to those messages.

Everyone, let's stick with the idea of OP's question, and not just recounting your opinion on Cat.

Either its a private internal site or a torrent site which probably gets its stuff directly from az.
You probably talk of rutracker, which gets his stuff from az.

AZ is the last biggest music production software linking site.I dont think people are aware how big its role is.

Catalyst was a friend and a mentor before I became a mod here, he showed me the ropes and how to deal with out of order members and such. Me, Catalyst, and former mod X where close I considered them my blood internet brothers.

I got a another skilled trade job that paid more but require I travel more than 90% time of the job, so I missed out on what happen when he was demoted.

I have tried myself to make contact with him but have heard no reply since the incident. But there is one thing that stands out about Catalyst and that was he always had a great sense of trouble makers before they became trouble makers on this site.

But to the Op if you manage to make contact tell him I said hi and hope he's doing well.

I know he has made mistakes and the fall off with Saint but I stayed out of the drama and he still a friend.
