Going back even further, I still like to use the juno x2 plug

One I'd recommend in Reaktor is 'lazerbass' I hardly ever use it, but like you said the sound is incredible

Are you talking about Waldorf PPG or Largo HD? I remember having trouble with Largo too but then there was a version which finally worked.

I remember thinking how great the presets were on that. I just couldn't find my way around it enough to control it.

The bass is so deep and sweet on that, it sounds almost like the real thing to me.

I remember you gave me that idea a while back. I loved it then, still do.

Damn. I spent so much time responding to what's already been said, I forgot what I was gonna say now.

Oh yeah! u-He Hive and that was thanks to @Baxter's Help. When I looking for something to help me create presets easily.

The free MauSynth. Tried it again one of these days and..wow! Sounds huge and brilliant! Has just become one of my favorite synth plugins!

Aalto is one I love. http://madronalabs.com/products/aalto

Reaktorheads already know this but the Atmotion ensemble from Electronic Instruments Vol 1 is unbelievably cool.
Also, if you want to see NI's FORM at age 1 check out Travelizer in the Reaktor Factory Library under Samplers.

So did I when I first saw it

  6. I guess the first step is to admit to having a problem. This thread got me thinking to look at a folder on the SSD drive that I keep instruments and plugins, mostly freebies that don't need installation and mostly rely on just a .dll file, to have a look see if there was anything that I might contribute to further the conversation. Lo and behold, my tendency to hoard was made painfully and blatently clear to myself, and I am embarrased to say that there is like a gigaschmertz of things that I will surely never use but have kept "just in case". After six years and three computers later I should really get it, and get real. Some of those things are quite ancient 32bit stuff that I jumped on after being born again into a new in the box incarnation of my former OTB self, and like a kid left alone in a candy store stuffed myself to the gills and watched the world spin quickly around from the sugar/acquisition buzz. Well!

I didn't know the Nave was so good at helping one create the semblence of a head trauma one would suffer from landing hard on the pavememt if not wearing a helmet. There is nothing blunt about it.

problem with nexus is that you are always depending on what refx releases to get new presets, for that price its to less flexibility.
and today you have the freedom to use synths rather a rompler with fixed amount of presets.

for adding a slightly pad in the background nexus always worked good, but spire, Massive, Sylenth1, etc does give you more freedom to add pads like that and you can change so much in the presets compared to nexus.

and if i want a preset for songwriting i just could set one in sylenth1, like the saw init in Nexus.

Not a synth, but Slate Digital. I initially wrote them off over Brainworx new bx_console, u-he Presswerk and a previous mixing chain that I used. A/Bing some new stuff though showed actually just how impressive Slate's plugins really were. So much, that I use mostly Slate plugins when I'm mixing. My ears definitely get better overtime and what I thought wasn't good turns out to be very good :).
