Although I have a certain question I need answered I thought puting a general topic would make it a) a longer living threat, b) if we get more contributions we might end up with a little 101 on this topic.


Heres the thing I m considdering a Pro Tools HD. Mostly to be able mention what I do my mixing in when it comes to aquireing customers, which wouldnt as long I m not on a legit sequencer.

Is it generaly possible to run cracked plugs w an HD rig?

What are the minor issues? (as they always come w everything *yes* )

I wont use any VST wrapper

The minor issue is that they will certainly not ask you what DAW you're useing ('cose most customers won't give a toss about it) but when they will ask you what effects did you apply to that track to make it sound like you did you will have to tell them of your cracked plugins .

 

If you can afford a pro tools hd rig just to show your clients (that means your a pro producer)then you can afford to buy plugins (get your clients to pay them)jesus what kind of freakheads hang around here

To be honest with you I m not I ma student of recording and mixing.

Now, why do I get all this smartassness?

Thats like spreading the word on a board. For example hyping a sm7b microphone, which maybe is a good mic but knowing that and not knowing about condesor microphones at the same breathstroke isnt more than jip jappin whats the word instead of knowing stuff for rilla.

Conclusion, it isnt smart at all.

Just to let you know I m not paying 3k for the HD Native.

So peeps w a Pro Tools HD rig that do try before buy. Pls contribute any expierineces.

Pro or not you asked a fairly dumb question, if you want my opinion.
For a start cracked plugins, if properly cracked, will work in any suitable DAW under any given OS (legit or cracked).
Why do you assume that there will be "minor issues"? Like what? Why should there be?
Cracked plugins (and any cracked software really) either are well cracked and work or they don't. Period. You can even find cracked plugins that actually work better that the "original" (think of some AIR releases of a couple of years ago).

To say that you are going to buy PT HD to cover your ass with customers I also find it a bit dumb 'cose, as I said in my previous post.. no-one is ever going to ask you if the DAW you are using is legit or cracked.
What you might have to warry about, if you ran a business with your studio, is a police check. If they do, you'd better have proof of purchase of EVERYTHING that you have installed, not just your Protools.

I m suspecting problems in the authoration. Ilok for pt along with cracked and some original stuff. I dunno if these are even registered up there (in the pen drive) since I have no expierience with it.


Yeahh its great. Some the warez stuff is more stable. Wasnt it steinberg using a cracked cubase at an exibition because of their copy protection? *yes*
