This is definitely the deal of the year, the pre-sale period is about to end, you'd better hurry! Yeah, it is the pure definition of audio processing magic! :)

D361A sound soooo beautiful. But... it brings my i7, 16 GB RAM, 8 core, studio one 3 computer to its knees... Latency is a over 1 second...

I am only using it on one track session.

Can anyone really use D361A in a live setting? Any ideas?

K, Thx. What DAW do you suggest for this one... Would FL work?

I think most DAWS are better cpu optimized than S1.Try Reaper or FL and see.
Im on a i5(soon to be i7) and also have currently 16GB of Ram but im using Cubase 8.5, no problems here.
On a single track the asio meter doesnt even show any thing.
Yes for a live setting it might take some compromises though i think you can work with it.

Are you on the latest version of Studio One? 3.3-something? I had these problems too. I'd add a few plugins to three or four vocal tracks and my i7 6700k would be jumping from 80-100%

If you give up S1 you're not gonna get that zippy, practically-zero-learning-curve workflow anywhere else, but I finally drank the Von Steyr kool aid and got Cubase. My cpu woes are an unpleasant memory. People seem to love Reaper. It's got a heck of a lot of options but once you configure it I imagine you could set up a really nice workflow for yourself.

Or if you're doing mostly midi, I am a massive Ableton Live fan. It's so fast and easy. You wouldn't believe it if you haven't tried it yet.

@Von_Steyr @Cav Emp Thank you for your help and suggestions. I used to work with Ableton a long time ago, maybe worth a revisit... Or maybe sell the kitchen and get Cubase...

What might be a magic plugin for one person can be a nightmare for another person!

Basically I find this post both superfluous and pure nonsense. It contains absolutly nothing new or usefull but a lot of small talk!

I saw a Cubase Artist license for $120 on KVR and Gearslutz. If you want, I could check if it's still available. I almost bought it myself but I found a guy selling 8.5 Pro for $260

Thank you much for your offer, but I'll pass, at least for now. Some other stuff is at the top of the list. (piano library addict lol)

Just use it when you mix, freeze other tracks if you need cpu.

Better yet. Here's a before/after of a song I'm currently working on. To keep it fair, I only used presets (no tweaking at all!), and of course both are level adjusted.
The first part is the rough mix, the second has BootEQ, Rescue and Aradaz Maximizer applied on the master. The latter used more like a limiter. Settings can be found in the description.

Probably be good for impaling vampires too. Not mine I have a decent Ibanez rg 5string modded with grover tuners and active pickups.
