It was a hard day. Nothing really came to a good end. Music editing was a pita. I'm exhausted. I need to relax and forget about music for a while.
My good old XBox 360 hasn't been touched for at least half a year, more towards a year. Why not? I turn it on ...
It doesn't turn on. Oh f.c., I forgot to take the rechargeable out of the controller. Yeah, yippy, and another broken one.
Where's the cable? Ah there, good. Now it should work. The console starts and welcomes me. Welcomes me? "Update needed". Oh come on!
Alright then, do you f.c.ing update. 2 minutes later the console restarts. Finally a quick gaming session! Huh? "Update needed". Whaaaat? You just did one, damn console. I just want to play a game! Well, do it.
5 minutes later the console resets and ... "Update needed". I scream. My neighbour knocks on the wall.
I'm close to eat the controller with some spicy barbecue sauce. But, hey, how many updates can it be, right?

An hour and 7 more updates later, the console finally is so kind to let me see the dashboard. F.c. you console, I don't want to play anymore.

I turn the console off.

And here I am, writing about this unbelievable behavior. I mean, it's not a PC, it's a damn gaming console. I remember the times where you switched such a thing just on and played. In fact, that was the reason to buy one anyway. Well, seems today is a really shitty day

 

Microsoft will no longer be offering support for Wind... I mean XBOX 360.
Please upgrade your system to XBOX ONE.

On a more serious note, hope your day gets better, brother.

@Pinkman thank you! I could cheer up myself with a Monty Python session. Listening to a lot of their songs it reminded me how much fun a song can be. I even found my favourite. 40 seconds of a real man's song

it's not possible to turn off updates on those Xbox and keep it in a state you are happy with it?
I do that to my Windows machines all the time...

Do all of the gaming consoles force that on you now? Or just good ol' pervy Uncle Bill ?

You can only turn off updates by declining one of them. From that moment on you have no access to Xbox Live anymore, which means, no cloud space, no achievements, no mulitplayer. The mean thing is, you feel so seperated if you do so

I couldn't name one song I'd not like. But probably that's due to the situation in which they are presented in. If a whole village dances on the streets and innocent children sing "every sperm is sacred" - that's just so hilarious.

Btw, the fist time I saw Monty Python, I was totally unaware of what to expect. It was a tiny cinema and the film was (of course) Life of Brian. The film begins and I am silent. Then comes the mother scene. By the point, where the three wise men take their presents back, I am on the floor between the seats laughing my ass off, tears of joy running from my eyes, my belly hurting, and the people around me think I'm the most annoying teenager they ever met. And I didn't stop laughing until the end of the film. It was just so unexpected!
