Okay, I'm not overly sure if this is the right place to post this, and i'm sorry if it is not. I just want to say hi to everyone on this site, and the sister site. I've not been a member of this forum for an overly long time, but have frequented the sister site for years, and visited this site on and off for a fair while, searching the forums for help and advice. From what I've seen pretty much everyone on here is pretty decent and helpful. I'd love to integrate myself more into this online society you all have here. So, after my not overly short pre-introduction, I'd like to introduce myself! I'm Darren. I love all things dark, disjointed and electronic. I'm a programmer, singer/screamer. Industrial metal is my main style, but I try listen to many different genres, and try to incorporate as many different styles into my music as possible. I doubt i'm anywhere near the caliber of most of the people here, but I have a hunger for learning, and always trying to better my music production. I can't really think of anything else to say right now. I'm a bit drunk. Again, I'm sorry if this is not the right place to post this. I did try and browse the topics looking for the right place. Sorry if I overlooked something.
@tulamide, thank you for the like and welcome! Much appreciated! I can't help but feel that I should have posted some links to my music. Thing is most of what I have online is either very old, or tracks I've rushed. Here's a link to what I've recently been working on. Hell, most recent is an upload of what I've been working on today. I hope hope that who ever listens to this likes what they hear so far. As I said, I'm hungry for learning, so any advice or tips that anyone could give me will be most appreciated. Edit: this clip is not mastered yet. Everything you hear has been done in about 5 hours tonight. Much work is needed.
i'm glad that the underlying tone of all things cheery and bright pushed though the deceiving layer of doom and gloom. ;) What can I say, I'm a sucker for feel-good vibes. Not a day goes by without at least one song from Glee to brighten my day!
@superliquidsunshine In a round about way that makes sense... Most of the time I do feel like I'm going in circles, so yeah, that sounds good to me! Cheers for the welcome! I shan't be saying goodbye anytime soon though! And @Fudsey Plange, cheers for the welcome, too, buddy!
@modelarmy, you have no idea how many times I've heard that, and it still never gets old! Cheers, for the welcome, dude!
@Darren Mason I like your music. Had a listen over at Soundcloud. It reminds me of my own music in the past (long ago). But I expecially like your voice. It has this darker, simplistic tone that made Dave Gahan famous. Maybe some day I can convince you to sing to one of my tracks? It would certainly add a tone to them that I'd really like.
@tulamide, thank you so much, dude! I'd be very much so interested to hear your old music if you have any links to it at all? Hell, what music you are doing now. And Dave Gahan... Man, I could only hope to reach that level! That is a major compliment to me, thank you so very much! It wouldn't take that much convincing at all. I know many people say that "music is my life", but it very much so is mine. I'm more than happy to try.
