CPUCores.v1.6.0-DVT (20 dollar at the moment) seems to be another alternative

 

Happy it worked for you! I've found its good to "Always Terminate" stubborn firewall flooders that you cant seem to kill on your own. My system has some weird BIOS drivers that are a big security risk, but my system insists on running it (with auto update disabled). So I use Process Lasso to auto-kill. It's a pretty useful program overall.

 

This Project Lasso software seems right up my alley. I'm definitely gonna try out the Demo and if it works as well as the reviews say it does I'll definitely pay for a copy. However, I've gotten burned before since I have a strictly offline policy for my work space and I've bough useful apps before only to be told that there is no way to register the apps offline. Is this the case with Project Lasso?

 

Not sure about the registering, but Im sure there is an offline way. but dont hold me to that. It is meant for servers and all. Right now I just get a 5 sec nag screen like reaper, but still functions fully.
Been testing it for about a week. Definitly helps here, didnt realize how much till I turned it off. My CPU % usage is a bit lower in all the usual tasks Im doing, from producing to gaming, to idle as well. I engage the gaming mode too when I got a full screen app going. I really notice the gains when Im running photoshop, preimere, or After Effects. Theyre all more responsive and shorter loading times when opening BIG projects

Update:
This process lasso app is a life saver! I was able to open up projects where I had to freeze tracks to be able to not have my machine stutter. I unfroze all the tracks on them and they were still going strong. Great suggestion =)
