Which UAD plugins are clearly ahead of similar offerings from other companies?

 

Culture Vulture. Shadow Hills comp/lim. Ampex & Studer offer more tweaks than other tape sims. The Unison preamps with their propriety impedance matching circuit paired with their preamp & amplifier models are off the hook too.... Clearly from the list you can see I'm partial to UAD's distortion & saturation releases... Next purchase will probably be massive passive... Lastly - not really unique - UAD's Pultec is in my opinion the closest thing to a real one. Last time I was at Sweetwater 3 techs & I did an A/B/X test with 2 real units & the UAD in a proper studio environment. None of us could tell the difference. In fact they kept the listening rig up in their monitor room to use it as a selling point for customers.
