    Hi,

I have encountered a "strange problem" regarding "volume levels" on a track when exporting / importing same track in Cubase. I can't figure out the problem and it makes me really annoyed!
I've been using Cubase for several years (working with Cubase 5.5) and I would not say that I am a beginner but of course you're never fully skilled when it comes to knowledge! *no*

Anyway, lets say I export 1 vocal track including different plugins enabled then import the track again in Cubase to free up some CPU.
Now when I import the track again into Cubase (same vocal track that I've exported to free up some CPU), I get different sound level on the track that I've imported... Both tracks are identical!

Now I wonder if any of you guys have encountered the same problem? Is there anything I missed or is it something I should solve in the settings in Cubase?
I also want to mention that the volume level is set to "0dB" on both tracks when I export and import the file...

    • (Original vocal track in Cubase with plugins on)
    • (Imported same track as the vocal track, but I get less volume level (just a few dB less))

I hope anyone of you can help me solve the problem because It's really annoying! :snuffy:

    Thanks in advance!

It could be sooo many things . . pan laws, FX on master bus, bus routing . . are you exporting through the master bus or directly from that track?

Why not record a quick video of the problem occurring?

I think the Pan laws is set to -3dB, so it could be it right? Should I try to change the pan law to 0dB or to "Equal Power"? What is standard for the pan laws?
There is nothing on the master bus of course and I've tried to export the track through both master bus and directly from a track but
I always get the same result... :(
