(so yepp Reaper can completely mimic the piano roll of FL Studio, except the generators ofc., it was just asked http://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=181309 this is why I've posted here too)

dropping some sample to a VST from the arranger is ctrl+alt + drag and drop (which creates a new file)

    hey you geniuses!

I have a question regarding the takes when you record over an already existing take.

When I started the session, takes were selectable within one audio track with those nice easy blue stripes indicating the active take.

But later its like.... all of the 5+ takes are just there and not really up to me which one is playing, the lowest one is playing i think.

Reaper made my last recording session a joy! First time user and it went flawless!

    Bought it!

these two ones helped me lot

Moving Automation With Item Speed Changes

    TLDR:

    • track automation doesn’t follow item length if you alt-drag an item edge.
    • if you set the project (or track, or item) timebase to Beats Position Length Rate, the item and automation will respond to tempo changes.
    • insert a tempo marker at the start of the item, use mouse scrollwheel over bpm display to shrink/stretch the item and envelopes.
    • Uncheck Preserve pitch in item properties to have pitch change along with speed changes
    • using stretch markers you can change speed within middle of items
The magnetic stretch marker trick. A good technique for aligning layered audio transients such as handclaps or vocal stacks using a trick with stretch markers. A great way to work if you do not want to quantize to the grid.

    there is script for this

I use this to drag and drop vocals into revoice (standalone), then after processing drag and drop (just the alt key) them right back into reaper. Who needs a vst bridge plugin? This is a much faster and more efficient way of working with vox/gtr for me. Not so confusing when you have alot of vox, just go one at a time
