I have a small setup running alongside my Logic rig: A Critter and Guitari Bolsa Bass (MIDI) and a Roland CMU-810 (CV/Gate) hooked up to an Arturia Beatstep Pro, and also a Critter and Guitari Pocket piano (MIDI) hooked up to a Teenage Engineering OPLab. And now I'm trying to get my Monotribe to play along...

Can't find any info anywhere on how to sync MT's sequencer to Logic's clock, or any clock - via either the Beatstep or the OPlab - to get it to play in time with the rest of my units. I only seem to find people syncing it to Volcas and the likes, which is nice but not what I'm trying to do. The manual only briefly describes the sync in and out jacks which are now CV/Gate I think, as I just updated the Tribe to the latest OS/Firmware.

Any ideas? I've tried the Beatstep's various connections including the CV/Gate, drum triggers and clock out with no success. I also think I read somewhere that I need to solder myself a cable with dual two-pin connectors in one end, and a four-pin in the other for the Monotribe's CV/Gate to work...

This all makes me feel seriously confused and noobish, any help would be hugely appreciated!

    Thanks

    Get the right cable first!

Edit: There is another option for syncing to Logic with only the MT and an audio interface:
You record the sync output of the MT with Logic and play it back to the sync input on the MT.
If the output level is high enough (use the headphones out of your machine if it's not!) then it should sync well.
You'll have to have a separate mono channel free to do this.
Another advantage: The sync signal is in fact a looped audio track in Logic.
You can move (or +/- delay it) to fine-adjust the beat offset until you have perfect sync between Logic and the MT.

  4. Is there anywhere on the MT that gives you choice of it being the slave or the clock?

I honestly don't know, the MT manual seems to assume that we all already know these things...but I'd definitely prefer it being the slave.
