    Hi there,

I'm looking for a library for Kontakt, or a vst software for this one.
The following example illustrates this technique (in French):

I tried with Orange Tree Samples Corebass Cherry Slapped. This is not what I want.
Native Instruments SCARBEE JAY-BASS is already better and all are great..But..
Adam Monroe Music - Slap Bass: not so bad.
Trillian is the best for the moment.

I tried others too. But without result. So all good ideas are welcome ;)

    All the best guys.

    Do you know this?
Anyway, my experience: You're either lucky to find a funk bass loop library that coincidentally has something similar to what you're looking for (it can take ages to browse loops!) or you accept that it's hard to sound like the real deal and try to make the best of it (by spending enough time with the library and just make it sound good) instead of trying to copy a lick played by a bassist.
I think the problem lies more in playing a stringed instrument on a keyboard. The key to realistic sound is control, and learning how to best use key switches etc.
I don't say it's impossible, I just haven't found a library covering all the nuances and being easy to play at the same time, but I'd say you can get close to 80..90%.
Honestly, I've tried and tried years ago, and too found Trilian, Scarbee and Orange Tree to come closest.
But L42-style slapping? No way if you want to get really really close.
You better watch a few Mark King (and Victor Wooten!) videos and tutorial vids from other great funk bass players and do what I did: Buy a bass guitar!
It does not need to be an expensive one, but one that's got a usable sound and that's easy to slap on :winker:
What I do: I practice in tiny sections because I'm a bad bass player, record short snippets and assemble them into one lick. In the end, it doesn't cost me much more time than trying to find the best way to play a sampled bass, but it sounds a lot more real and organic - given that I use proper amp and cab sims of course. This is just as important.
And it's a lot more fun too, giving me new inspiration and ideas sometimes.
Ah, not to forget the decorative aspect of a nice bass guitar on your wall.
