If you own reaper or bitwig you'll be aware of the lack of chord options. So I'm developing an uber simple VST to enable you to play chords from one note. I know there are other devices out there, but I find them either convoluted or pricey.

If you are interested join this page.

    About:

    1. What is it? It's a plugin, If you play a note, or have one note in a piano roll, it will generate a chord for you.

    2. Why? Well Bitwig and Reaper don't have any kind of chord device, and everything I've found is either convoluted, or pricey. So I made one.

    3. Who's it for? Anyone who doesn't have a chord device in their DAW. Bitwig, Reaper, Maybe Fruity Loops?

    4. How Much? Nada.

    5. What Works? Turn some dials, push a key, you get a chord.

    6. What Doesn't Work? Ok so this thing is in Alpha stage, so it's very new and their are bugs.
If you push more than one key or have more than one note in the piano roll it will play both chords simultaneously. I can see this being helpful if you are building poly chords or want to combine two tetra chords. But for the purpose of simplicity I don't want this behaviour.

If you turn the rotaries whilst playing chords the notes can get stuck.

    7. What else will it do? I really want to make it a good free tool that will allow you to play chord scales in all modes
I really want a tool that you can enter the key and it will show all the chords available in that key as well as suggested other chords, ie borrowed from parallel keys and tritone substitutions.
I want to implement a keyboard to show you what notes it's playing.
If you have any suggestions ask away? I'll most likely say yes.

Very nice man, thank you very much!
MIDI plugins are always welcome. Even in Live I would consider using it.
Been using midiChords from thepiz.org but it's apparently become silent around its development.
I'm also using MidiFlow on the iPhone but it's not really made for quickly building new chord settings.

And yes, I have two immediate suggestions:
    - Setting arbitrary chords per-key without using any scale (If you like, with a selectable option to either repeat 12 trigger keys within an octave or individual chords on 127 separate midi notes)
    - Switching presets by freely selectable MIDI notes

PS: I like the Chord Gen Cover Photo too. It really makes me want to touch as few keys as possible

    All the best!

They are cool ideas, pretty much stuff I want to implement.

Interesting and neat idea to try to develop something without the difficulties or issues with other similar software/solutions :like:
Hope you can pull this off successfully. It may help a lot of people. Good job !
