Just wondering what's thw score with these devices? I know TC discontinued them but wondering what the position is if you buy one used?

Are you able to register it? Can you get the plugins? Can get any of the other plugins that don't come with the card you buy?

Only the ones that were purchased by the person who sold you the card.

Remember the plugin are 32 bit only, so you'll need to convert them with 32 lives (mac) or JBridge (win)
Last Mac OS supported was 10.6.8 but I was able to use my PoCo Firewire with 10.9.2 with just a few bugs on a couple of plugs (Dynamic EQ and ClassicVerb)
I'm actually running my old PoCo on a Win 8.1 machine with ProTools 12.5 (AudioUtopia) JBridged VSTs and BlueCat Audio Patchwork.

you still can get your device registrered, i even got 2 month sondonsound (online)free subsciption. but other than that its meaningless.
14 standard plugs are (depending on your card) "free" and tied to your card.

i like them very much especialy teh m5000 reverb and the (stereo/dual) filtroid (there is a native mono/single version avaialable)
pluginalliance got the character plugin
there are loads of good dynamic/ eqs plugs now (but not with the drive function/ maybe softubes s9000?)
d16 got the sh101 emu

but still... on ebay there are still plugins sold wich "supossible" are able to be bought and activated (till 2018)
but i´m not sure where i read it.

but better to buy one with for instance a virus licence or a big fat reverb
