I agree with the majority of your points, even about the compressor, but the coloration aspect or harmonic drive or saturation or tube amp isnt there with fruity compressor. Some people prefer an all in one or a more true to the hardware compressor, some prefer the separation of the effect and the side effect of the effect (INCEPTION!). Sytrus is still a beast but some of the parameters i would really like to see mapped just simply arent there, and are there in fm8. I am still learning sytrus's limitations but i know in the past when making complex fm i have noticed some, im at work atm so i cant provide any specific references.

Logic pro hands down. Second would be Cubase. S1 having the worst, but probably best workflow.

Every DAW has is own strong toolset (or i don't know how to use them properly)
But only 1 DAW has very special one's and that is unfortunately Logic.
I hope one day we can use those ones in other DAW's (cross platform)

I think FL Studio has all type of plugins to finish mix in the box. And they are pretty awesome.

    p.s.
    I'm not FL fanboy.

FL studio is the only DAW I haven't got into, the workflow is just a bit foreign to me. I'm sure if I sat down and worked at it I would find it amazing so I'm not dissing it. But I think if you already have a good grasp of DAW operations, FL Studio can be a bit clunky. Just my opinion though. Don't hate :)

LogicX has the most amazing stock plugins. I honestly think you could just buy Logic and happily create with no further 3rd party plugins. Probably the only DAW I could say that for.

Digital Performer 9 has some of the best sound processing plugins, but the worst stock instruments. Sonar's stock plugins are dope too.

+1 for Reaper built-in effects although the lack of built-in samples and instruments can suck.
The eq comp delay and pitch engine among other things rule

    Semi-OT:
Afaik some independent plugin companies have developed a few of the stock plugins you get with your DAW. So the plugin you're craving for may already be there hidden behind a generic GUI.

I would find it interesting to compile a list which plugin company did what for which DAW.

I'm not sure if I remember it correctly, but let me start anyway:
    - Camel Audio was bought by Apple and the "Alchemy" got part of Logic
    - Voxengo did some EQ for Cubase

    Your turn...

When stock instruments only are meant, then there's one DAW that should be listed in the top 5. But just like Voldemort it seems to be bad habit to name it. Although I see no Reason.

To be able to tell which DAW has the best plugins, one would have to do a rather "objective" monster shootout, and still, I doubt the result will be of much value. Sound is often a matter of taste, and IMHO the times of DAWs with ridiculously bad plugins (like e.g. Cubase in the 90s) are over.
Also, I believe the result will be a mixed bag, with one DAW including the best EQ, another with the best compressor, a third one with the best virtual instruments, a fourth one with the best algorithmic reverb and so on...
