Hope you'd like it. Yes as usual finishing it is expected.:dunno: I'm working on it. It's so dense and I'm trying to spread the used harmony out on the whole track.

BTW, if you want to put my style in one of below ones, what would it be? I really can not find any track to be like mine.:suicide: I asked it because I want to get inspired much and enjoy.

This sounds, well, not good. There's no melody and there's no rhythm as well. Just chords that don't resolve into anything and a bass that's not following the tonic and ends up being more annoying than experimental. My guess is that you don't listen to much music.

Yes, it's just the foundation. Anyway thanks so much for the comment.

I don't like being harsh but you can't build anything if the foundation is not good. Maybe you should try another hobby like knitting or flower arranging as creating music is not one of your skills.

If you've trouble finishing songs you could always try laying out a plan beforehand. For example write down the mood, the key elements of the song (main instruments, tempo, time signature?), the structure, and then stick to it. It probably won't be great initially but it will get you going. Also stick to 4-5 chords at the most. I've seen your other posts and I know you want a gazillion chords and stuff but if you can't say what you want to say in 4 chords, you definitely cannot say it in more. Think of it as exercise :p

  6. Then put it in an unsuitable place.

Have to agree with Trevor on this.
You already had a foundation that people liked. Why don't you try finishing that. What's the point of new foundations, if you don't build any walls on them. Go back to the last one and finish it. When it is finished and not before, post it up. I won't be listening or commenting until it's done, this constant thread bumping is getting boring. Sl8ters.

The only reason for me not being able to finish them is perhaps I work with Fruity Loops (not Songs). It's time to change my DAW.

BTW, All good things come in sevens (threes?). That was my final demo. I'm afraid by one more, I lose my head.

You're right. And the reason I can't play piano well is because of the keyboard i use, not because i haven't actually practiced enough to get better. If you really think in your heart of hearts that your statement is true, then you should quit music right now. Because all DAWs work in the same manner, a blank musical canvas waiting for an artist to complete something. Besides if you really wanted to finish a song, any song, you would do it no matter what perceived obstacles are your way.

For example, I'm so poor every guitar i have ever owned including the ones i use now, have all been such a state of disrepair i can barely play live so many things on them are broken. But do you think i let things like that, or not having enough frets, stop me from learning how to "shred." Of course not.

The only obstacle for me is I've tried to find out how really music works. I've always escaped from acting randomly (though mine seem to have the same condition) . I mean I really hate putting some random chords next to each other and decorate it with other elements and call it a song. The only reason I am a big patron and supporter of music theory is it helps me to mean to my thoughts. Not concentrating on any single production is me can not satisfy myself to produce something that I would not know what it is. Every day I expand my music knowledge or production techniques and hope finally satisfaction falls into my lap and I'd be able to explain others how my musics really work.

I don't think you actually understand how songwriting, or any writing, works really. Nobody, puts random chords down and calls it a song. They hear something in their head first, put that down, then they call it song. Music theory means nothing if you can't hear anything in your own head, which doesn't require music theory to do. I mean can you hum or whistle or sing a melody off the top of your head? If not you literally can't write music. Don't you think about what you are gonna say in these threads BEFORE you type, or do you just put random words down and hope it conveys your idea?

Music is a language too so the same rules apply. One thinks of a song first then one writes it down or records it in a DAW.

I am not against the melody but it has the least importance in my flow. Creating the pure melodies is the easiest thing I can dream of. I love songs that harmonically be rich. TBH, I don't love much songs that rely more on the vocals or melodies and the chords are just as almost hidden or background textures behind the songs. The beauty of western musics are not because of their being melodical because most eastern musics are more prolific than west's in this field with their strange scales. What distinguishes west is the harmony and I always love to bold it much.

Have you ever produced music for others? I think you could have talent for making music for movies... :chilling:
...or television. By own experience I know that sometimes working within a (time-) frame, margins and restrictions
one can create surprising good results. Well, working under commission is not like working totally free but you can
learn a lot in terms of COMPOSITION, arrangements and much more! I mean you don't have to
do it for your entire life, just collect experiences and knowledge. Wish you luck & success.

Nothing special (forgive me bothering you).

Drums and Bass are so simple and will be replaced also I tend to mix it with the demo 6.

Have to admit that's a massive improvement on what you have posted before. I don't actually hear anything wrong with the drums and bass, you just need to work out how to extend the arrangement into a full track.

I think your problem is your coming at this thing all wrong. See the best songs are by those just fucking around and finding happy accidents. That's why we say 'Play Music' we don't say 'Work out music', like it's a maths problem.

I mean I can't talk I'm studying a degree in music and I have a degree in sound production, and I know a lot more than I ever have. But still the best stuff that comes out of me is always an accident.

Have the accidents, then after all is said and done, and you've completed the track, then work out what it was you did. Remember Play is the magic word.

Maybe "happy accident" can be the genre that u were looking to categorize ur demo as? The only other thing it might be is classic trance 8o according 2 wikipedia!
