Hey guys. New here. Just wondering if anyone can help me with the guitar effect(s) in this little guitar solo. It starts around the 3 minute mark. Thanks, any help is appreciated.

 

Nice song. Lead need fundamental work to me. Rhythm guitar is great.Try fading in and out on the volume know on the guitar also dial back on the effects

 

Hi, thanks for the reply. I'm not sure I understand. This is most definitely not me playing by the way. It's J. Mascis of Dinosaur Jr. fame. I'm just wondering how to get the effect he's using. I think it's a phaser/flanger with some chorus but I can't seem to get it right. Thanks for the response though!

 

JMascis isn't deaf by now?

I am no expert on effects, it sounds like he's getting a small tremolo effect in there, which could be a by product of the phaser settings.. but chorus and phaser might get you there.. have you tried different versions of phaser ?
Depending on the knobs etc. you can get quite a range of sounds..

 

Ha, ya his music has mellowed out a bit I think. Ya I was thinking along the same lines as you with the phaser etc. but good call on the tremelo effect. That could be the missing piece. Will give it a try later. Thanks!
