This makes me really, really, sad and angry considering all the folks I've grown up around dropping off like flies in the last few years because of the junk and how many folks I know personally that have managed to stave off their cravings because of Kratom. Agreed. I'm furious. I struggled with opiate addiction in my early 20s. I haven't used kratom as I've been done with all that for years, but it's clear that safety had nothing to do with this decision.

 

well I don't see a petition, I see a notice of intent in the federal register. i'ld be happy to sign one but I don't think they need it at this point.

I agree with you guys about the senseless loss of addiction and I check in on the side of total abstinence. since k10 the federal gov sped up the legal timeline to address substances like kratom

WHAT THE FUCK IS KRATOM!!!!!

I used opiates an benzos for 13 years... Started Suboxone November 2008... and am finally taking my very last dose today.... I weened my self off SUUUUPER slow... but it;s stilll a bitch... the past week I was taking a 1/4 of an 8mg. strip. then last 3 days an 1/8. and now, literally just now, I took a 1/16th of an 8mg. strip.


I cannot believe whatsoever that I haven;t heard of Kratom.... I CANNOT FUCKING BELIEVE THAT!!!!

I did drugs a long time ago, and I don't miss 'em at all. The drugs now are so frickin' weird, too – zombie-apocalypse "bath salts," flesh-eating Krokodil, meth-monsters like you've never seen before . . . There has to be some para-governmental think-tank coming up with novel, bizarre, intense ways of messing with the public's minds from inside and out with these drugs.

 

*sigh* Another black page in the history of the War on Drug(user)s... I've missed me kratom toss'n'washes for years so i feel ya guys. I mostly used it recreationally but have known many ppl that used it to keep their opioid cravings at bay. They banned it here in Denmark around 2009, I still remember the press release acknowledged the very limited extent of ppl using it and that they'd received no reports of any damages caused by it's use, so obviously(??) they should ban it right away. "Look, this appears to be psychoactive, some ppl seem to enjoy/benefit from it's use, let's ruin their lives!"
