You obviously are not a passionate keyboard player(?) so I do not blame you for passing. My point was that keyboard players actually have to play the instrument before they can say how good or bad it is. The Spectrasonic video indicates that the sounds seem pretty great. How autenthic it feels and actually sound on a good system, we have to wait and see. To bash the instrument before playing it just means that you have little interest in playing keyboards. It says very little about the actual quality of the product. I see a lot of dissappointed non-keyboard players crying here. To them I say, dry your eyes and move on.

Holy cow! This is by astronomically far the absolute best thing to have ever been released to the pro audio market!!!! I'm gonna lose my fertility just because I'm jacking off to this too much.
Just kidding. I don't really mean that. Lmao.
But before I get too far into this, I'd like to make a prediction:
A request for this will appear on the sister site before it even gets released, & the request will surge into the weekly top due to astronomical rankings. R2R will be the first to crack it & release it. Either way, I will not be buying this. This is perhaps one of the stupidest things I've seen from this company. 80GB of piano samples. And it doesn't even have a Steinway Concert D in there. ONE OF THE BEST PIANO MODELS OUT THERE, IS EXCLUDED FROM THIS! Lol No Bechstein D-280, either. I have a feeling this is one worth pirating. Lmao
Hahahahaha!!! Spectrasonics, you really had us going there for a minute. For a second I thought you were gonna have something umm... unique. Lol. As if a 450GB Spitfire Audio Piano library for Kontakt wasn't enough overkill for pianos. Next should be 280GB of kazoo & chinchillas farting. Don't think it hasn't been done already, either! ReFX made a $4,000 product dedicated to smelly ear crippling EDM/Moombahton/Melbourne Bounce chinchilla shart car alarm sounds! :hahaha:
I'm not so much disappointed, but rather surprised & amused. This is so funny. How did we not expect this? 9 pages of "Oooh it's gonna be a DAW!" "Oh no it won't! It's gonna be hardware!" "Nah, screw that! It's gonna be a virtual singer!" Then you got the stoners & hippies in the middle going "Dude, it's gonna be a rad time machine to go back to the stone age. Yoo kno, so we can get even more stoned?" And then it's just 80GB of keyboards.
Even one person in the facebook comments said he bet $1,000,000 it wouldn't be a casiotone emulation. Lmao it's a damn emulation of all different keyboards. :hahaha:
I can't go back to that comment now to see exactly what casiotone he said it would be, because I'm currently barred from Facebook right now. But damn this is so funny! :hahaha:

Nobody is saying Keyscape does not sound great. it does. Really. powerful, subtle, bla bla bla. A tremendous tool for every keyboardist, this is true. And an " all in one" package. That also is true.
BUT. Not at all what 90% of Spectrasonics fans were expecting. And a lot of companies have similar keys. UVI, Pianoteq, imperfect samples, VI Labs etc.
These days, i'm more excited about what companies like Output or Heavyocity are about to release. Nevertheless Omnisphere 2 is still king among gods. So just for that i can't blame them...
    Amen :guru:

It is pretty obvious that you do not like sample based keyboards. So I understand that you will pass on this one : ) I cant find nothing in my post saying anything bad about physical modeling in the future, or even now for that matter. But, since you brought it up, can you point me to any such recording that sound convincing to you? I would like to be convinced. :)

it sounds great yes but look who they have playing it!!!! 80 gig worth of Pianos ? good luck with that release. i have loads of Piano stuff. don't think i need 80 gig more even thought it is from my fav Spectrosonic. much like Omnisphere im sure this great sound comes at a price of a lot of resources munching in a daw environment. I much admit i was expecting something a bit more forward thinking then a "Super Piano" plug in.

While I understand everybody's frustration, I have to admit the software is pretty impressive. If you watch the video, you can see the look of amazement on most of the players faces, it must be even better to play than just to hear it. I look forward to getting my hands on it.

What a waste of promo hype. 77gigs for 36 instruments? Gimme a break. Now if they made a 77GB Rhode's, Wurlitzer or Clav library with innovative sympathetic resonance and half pedaling now that would be a head turner.

Most ppl summed it right : Kontakt banks are probably better, with more round robin, sympathetic scripts and more cowbells.
I would be very surprised if, using less than half samples, they could do better than Kontakt banks made years ago.
That's why Kontakt still the king : there is no real competition in the "realistic sampling" world.
Don't think this release will change something on this side...
Last time i checked a "Kontakt alternative", it was like playing with a plastic toy

Actually. When you think about it. Eric WAS right, this product IS unique. This will be the one and only product that Spectrasonics release, which wont have anyone nagging R2R to crack.

Sorry Impressive. I hadn't seen that yet when I typed this.

Do you know for a fact you wont be able to connect an external pedal to achieve half pedalling? I'm not saying it does, but might it not be possible?

I watched it. Twice. They are all Eric's Friends that have been invited there. If they didn't like it do you expect them to feature in the promo video?

I've watched the demo and it's quite impressive, but I should also mention the naughty players and the bitchin' keyboard. OK, fock the players, they are nicely paid to say the nice things about the product, but will it sound as horny on anything less than 1000-1500$ controller? That's the question. We don't want some nasty farts coming out of lesser controllers, we want the same Swiss mother milk. It's true!

I don't get the general frustration over this. What exactly did you guys expect? Another synth giant octopus like Omnisphere to satisfy your granny's secret synth desires? But why? Who the fuck needs another synth for Jarre's sake? Fucking Jarre doesn't need another synth, but a random audiosexer does?! Don't make me laugh! (in Shao Kahn's voice).

Drums library? C'mon, we need another drum samples as much as we need more pianos, meaning we don't. Just get Drumforge Ultimate and VI-Elements Core Kit, these are the most bitchin' drums ever. Fucking amazing sound and you can tweak that Core Kit until the day you die and you still won't be finished. Shame you won't be able to take your laptop with you (where you'll be going).

What else? Guitars library? Yeah, I would actually prefer a bitchin' guitar library, which would include all acoustic and electric guitars, starting from Robert Johnson acoustic thingies from like 1930's 'til some fucking 9-string electrics to djent your ass off. Some nice Spanish guitars as well to seduce a sexy gypsy dancer with your bitchin' flamenco skills you don't possess. Yeah, I'm all for it!

But it's the same kinda complaint, really. Don't we have enough acoustic and electric guitars already? We fucking do! Eat me!

Trilian 2 maybe you guys wanted? More basses, more basses. Yeah, I get it. I like basses. It's that groove, you know. It's da funk! But what da funk, really? Don't we have them enough? Well, we don't, actually. I'm still looking for that Precision bass with pick articulation. 2016 it is and still no P-bass with a pick. What the fuck?! Bass guitar software developers, whoever the fuck, when you sample your Precision basses, do me a favor, sample the fucking pick attack! Thank you.

Yet I'm not complaining about the bitchin' keyboard giant. C'mon guys, it's a great tool for any keys player. I like the "Swiss knife" style of it, like "all in one" software. It's great for live situation. Me, I don't have much time to scroll through the shitload of VST instruments and search/load Kontakt libraries, I totally hate it. It kills the vibe. But when you have a thing like this... Well, it depends on loading times, of course. If this thing is fast with SSD's, then it's just awesome. You get a lot of instruments to choose from, quality samples, and all this in one library. If you hate 77 gigabyte factor, you could get rid of the piano libraries you don't like and use and free your HD space.

All in all, fuck your complaints. I could just write this as a bottom line, couldn't I? Well, there you have it. You've reached the bottom line. Congrats! Yeah yeah, and fuck your complaints once again.

Actually, there is a request for "Spectrasonics 4th product" on there already. It was there minutes after I typed that reply. Look a little harder, my friend.

Not really understanding all the hate, Most of you guys are acting like children that did not get what they wanted for Christmas. At the end of the day it's just another VSTi, no big deal to most here but to the few of us that actually play keys, this is huge

Well I mean, if they were bribed... then quite possibly. :bleh:
I'm not complaining, Mykal. I'm actually laughing really hard still. I'm excited for this, but I'm also amused. As for children not getting what they wanted for christmas, I recall christmases when a VERY distant relative bought me a tickle-me cookie monster toy for me when I was 10 years old. This relative hadn't seen or heard from me since I was about 3 years old. So when I opened it up, I cracked up laughing, pretended I was thankful, & come the day after christmas when everybody left, I was beating it up all over the trampoline & the thing kept laughing in my face until eventually I got all the frustration out of me. So when I was angry, I just grabbed that toy & beat the shit out of it. My point is, there is use for anything. If you gave me a kazoo right now I would most likely find a way to rock that son of a bitch. Lmao! My creativity is infinite. Hahaha. Therefore I'm the type of person who instead of complaining, I try & find use for what I have. :mates:

The last thing that ever impressed about Spectrasonics was Eric losing 50lbs. Unfortunately the new release looks to be just a bunch of pork fat.

"Fuck! Fuckin' pianos and bullshit 'realistic' emulations AGAIN!!!" That was definitely my initial reaction. But that I watched that demo. It's gonna replace a few of your go-to emulations. Fact. It sounds really damn good.

They did hype the release, though. They didn't have to build such suspense for this kinda instrument. Solid, but not groundbreaking.

Well you can speak for yourself because I definitely wasn't leaving any cookies out for Spectra-Santa. & probably never will... Think about it. 32 instruments into 77 gigs. That's 5GB each at most compressed... LAME LOL!!!

Alright.. another opinion from a person that did not grow up playing keys, Listen up peeps. I do not play guitar and because of that I do not go around putting down Guitar Vsti's or guitar libraries. so if you really have no clue how this impacts the few of us that do play keys, please STFU and go back to all your synth presets
