For some reason, I don't think it'll b liek Piano tech. Even if they sample every piano ever made, it wouldn't take a decade. Well, maybe if they set fire 2 teh studio / Eric Persing accidentally. Prolly the same 4 guitars, although that wud b potentially most interesting if they did it right (best). Ditto modelled strings. Voice? That wud b a real volte-face. Next (12?) hours will b interest. So long as it's not a new fukn wavetable synth, I'll b ok w/ whatevs!

vocaloid, from what I've seen and heard, is way too much work for less expressivity.

working with vocalists, yes.

the idea of software I have is: you pick a preset (i.e trap / hip hop singer, woman soprano) (these are just dumb exemples)
, you sing your stuff and it turns your voice into the kind of singer you picked.
i'm sure this kind of stuff will exist, but not for now, I guess.

but one thing is you've gotta know how to sing also.
I see a lot of people asking for stuff that would make their life easier,
but if you don't learn at least an instrument, no matter how good, reactive, realistic & expressive the sampling,
you'll be limited to someone else vision of how and what to play

i don't think that's what omnisphere was meant to be, so it's normal not to find realisitic
traditional instruments like you can find in all the kontakt banks out there.

depends on the style you want to play, you will have to work on the sounds a little bit more,
but i agree it doesn't cover all genres

it still remains one of my favorite synth, and I find the sounds very inspiring.

 

I bet it is hardware. It is probably like a UAD Satellite for synths/samples. It will allow monstrous polyphony and effects on the synths/samples without putting any drag on your host computer. Great for live guys. It will probably let you control it from an iPad so you can bring an iPad and a USB keyboard to a gig and rock out without a laptop.

 

It's a VSTi.

For it to be in development for 10 years, it would want to be pretty damn impressive.
I hope it's some sort of melody/arrangement creator, like band in a box, but totally awesome.
If it's just another sampled library of some sort, it will be a bit of a letdown.

I really hope is something new and useful in a way we are not experience it. I really don't like to see another piano, guitar or drums. Thousand of them are enough.
