Jobs was a Zen kind of guy in theory ( though reportedly somewhat of an asshole as well )
took LSD... went to India blah blah.. this would have been his roots coming up in the
60's and 70' . We older members here totally "get it" I would think.. including me, of course

a turntable was essential in the systems I grew up on...

It's just a photo. Pictures don't say more than a thousand words, this is posed as fuck.
The photographer probably said: "Here take this magazine, and this empty cup. I dim the lights, you sit down on this old towel I found in the backyard. And lets take this lamp I found in the garage, this will look like some modern Zen shit. Let's do it here in front of the window. The records and your stereo will give the picture a nice hight balance in contrast to the lamp. And this really expensiv looking Picasso to your left is out of view so it can't mess with the mood. Plus people will forever think you were this music loving, modest and humble zen dude. "

    And Jobs said: "Okay."

Spoken like a true "hater" (of all things Apple and Mac)!!!!!!
    Please pay attention in class?

"Neil Young said in 2012, “Steve Jobs was a pioneer of digital music. But when he went home, he listened to vinyl."

    That's all... END OF STORY.

I am not an admirer of Mr. Cook either but all the extra stuff you threw on that Sundae is a bit over the top.

Use that MENSA IQ you have and try to dissociate what you are feeling from dildos, gay people and Mr. Cook's sexuality or lack thereof annd all the other stuff you've heaped onto the junk pile.

I only hold you to the standard you've set for yourself.

Also if you are not paying for their stuff, I don't think they'll mind much if you jump ship to Microsoft.

Meh... I don't see the point in any of the stuff I wrote above this line, but am going to post it anyways as matter of intellectual honesty. I wrote am throwing it out there regardless.

It was a joke, dude. I see you got a load of my sense of humor. There's a professional/mature side to me & there's an immature/comedic side to me. I didn't know I had to be Mr. Serious all the time. Yup, it was Sunday afternoon. But Sunday afternoons are serious. No time for fun & games!
No way, really?!?!? :wow::wow::wow::lmao: They're only worth a low budget $775 Billion as of 2015! How could they not care about that $200 for the software?!?!? That's crazy! :woot::woot::woot::hahaha:

to make yourself crazy... pray don't let it happen bubba ! :hillbilly:

He's dead. Still, he's either loved or hated. Strange. I know this is about a photo from 1982 and an article that 30 years later took it as proof for Jobs being a fan of analog gear. But maybe we could see Jobs just as a human being, with wishes and thoughts outside of Apple?

Maybe we should take him out of the usual perspective? This is also Jobs, spoken to Stanford students in 2005:

"Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don’t lose faith. I’m convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You’ve got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don’t settle."

"Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."

    "Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish."
