A DAW that can not handle good Delay Compensation will cause Micro Phase on tracks and this will effect the sound Quality. I use Live, but for mixing with external plugins on tracks I don't use Live. Some External Plugins cause Delay in Live and Ableton has not yet solved the problem. Maybe Bitwig could replace Live some day.

They cause delay in all DAW, not only Ableton. The PDC troubles is a very old troll-ish question.
Actually the PDC in Ableton IS reliable! It doesn't (and won't) compensate for automation lines though.
They're not working on that because the architecture of Live is aimed to Live performance... it's ok to have some latency depending on what you do on audio output, it wouldn't be ok to have this latency on physical knob in a live scenario.

had pdc trouble with Ableton and FL Studio, now 0 problems with Presonus Studio One. Really love it. Fast, easy and precise. I use it for everything from producing to mastering (don't use Project mastering page at all). i use also for making dj's edit, mashups and also for dj mixes and stuff like that.

i produce maninly edm and progressive stuff, other daws are good to but i wasn't really comfortable with them.

So No Digital Performer on the Daw list to vote? What's up with that ? It should be a strong contender , I use it everyday for recording sessions and composing. Best one out there for film scoring as well.

after a lot of ship-jumping i am now completely sold on fl studio for midi. nothing else touches it in that respect. the piano roll has a justifiably good reputation. plus the fact it runs flawlessly in rewire or as a vst plugin means i can use it seamlessly in ableton which is my current fav. for loops and that kind of thing : )
    whoop whoop..

I've tried all of them, and finally, a few years ago, I bought a Mac with Logic, and that was the best decision for me (I compose electronic music with some guitars and analog instruments). It's really easy to use, fast, with clear and simple interface, very powerful, with nice plugins and instruments. Also it's quite cheap (but not the computer). Definitely I recommend it to every musician. Well, it's not so easy, I know that Ableton has great features for DJ's that Logic doesn't.

Yes, that's like the only one DAW that's been built to just brag about being analog sounding and suck at everything else. The only other DAW with "a sound" I can think of is Pro Tools HD, where you have a module called HEAT which is basically saturation on all channels, but that thing is optional and even if you want to use it it's several thousand $ for the hardware and software to run it.

More recently, Studio One implemented the Console Shaper, which is bus saturation with crosstalk and presumably nonlinearities, modeled after some I believe a British console. Sounds surprisingly very good too.

I use logic for producing mainly because of the low latency mode. I truly wanted to do it all in Studio one 3, but it has this slight lag/delay in time when i'm producing at times. And since i'm using maschine as a plugin strictly to lay down my drums, i hate hearing my drums slightly later than when I punched them in....so until S1 improves this latency, i'm using logic to compose and mix it all in studio one. S1 is a phenomenal daw. Very modern and straight forward.

I personally enjoy using: Live, Reason & Reaper. However, I want to get more into working with, Bitwig. All Daws I listed are amazing tools for creating, mixing, and performing.

I tried 5 Daws till now and am placing them best to least... :like:

    1) Ableton Live
    2) FL Studio
    3) Cubase
    4) Reaper
    5) Sonar

There may be differences in Daw(s) due to your audio config (correct one is needed) and monitors (no speakers or home theatre) :bleh:

Also due to you have no golden ears or are becoming deaf slowly :thanks:
