    Hi,
i'm going to switch from mac to PC, i had until now an Apollo Twin Solo from UAD, so great i love it, but it's not compatible with PC, unless i buy their usb version, but i'm obligate to buy the dual version because there isn't a solo version..
So i'm hesitating between Antelope Zen Tour or the Focusrite scarlett 18/20 or a motu... I really like the knob style on the middle...

You can also use your Mac Apollo TWIN for mixing/listening with an SPDIF cable, works perfectly fine.
Depends if you need recording or not.

i didn't know about this cable, yes i would need to record, but it's just my voice for trying some lyrics, so don't need even a audio interface. Which SPDIF cable would i need, the coaxial, optical ? female of male, and how do i plug it from where to where ?

A macbook with windows needs a mini toslink-SPDIF cable
For your hardware, either you have a SPDIF out, or a toslink/mini-toslink out, usually directly on the motherboard these days.
The internal audio chipset is only used for the clock, so any motherboard does just fine.

You won't be able to use UAD plug-ins but that's ok.

the best idea would be to sell my UAD and buy the Antelope Zen tour :) because it seems to be compatible with PC and MAC. seems also to be a really good quality

If you liked the uad why not stick with it, reselling without much loss is not unheard of with uad.
The zen is probably an upgrade and there is still the audient gear and rme. but focusrite is good aswell.

But are you sure they made the tb version not compatible with win? Isnt here an firmware "upgrade" maybe?
some of the rme gear is class compliant if thats of interest.

just looked closer at the zen
geez if you have the dough and need that io get the zen ;)
    dope gear!

I have been using Presonus 1818VSL. I have even used it for live shows. Great for recording with 8 mic pre's and real time monitoring with FX. Been on the road doing shows for over 2 years now with no probs.
