Hi !

I'm trying to install some NI softwares on a friend's old Vista laptop.

I got the legit DVDs from Komplete 7, I began to install them, then download warez update, but every warez I find say "You can't install on Vista, Windows 7 or later"

So... How can I do that ? What version should work on Vista ? I tried the older updates I found on the web, same problem "Win 7 or later"...

Is there a trick or something ?
I know the trick on OSX to install a newer plug on an older system, I have to change a value in a text document inside the package, is there something similar on Win ?

You can also install "new" plugins and updates from NI.
As Programmer & Reverse Engineer i analyzed the "Code" (ASM) and found out that inside the code is only a
simple proof to check which operating system is installed. If you bypass this, the installer will fine install the program.
I also installed new plugins and new updates without any problems. My operating system 2 is windows xp.
It is only marketing from NI. Software companies told you something to buy new hardware and software.
Hardware companies told the same. This is only making money. How much people had bought a new operating system
only for plugins? This is so funny.

So, just analyze the plugin or use a patched version.

Well the tutorial is overrated.
Of course you can extract the installer and copy & paste the .dll,
but you can also "patch" the Installer ;-)
I think a fine patched installer is better.

There is a patcher made for win xp and vista called
Native Instruments - Win-Xp Fix Unipatcher incl. NI-AIO Tool [Testversion]-Tracer
you can find it on az.
There is also a newer version he made
Native Instruments (HomeCooked TinyToolz 1-6)-TRACER
not sure what version works best as i just used the old one a few times,
i never got any version over kontakt 5.3.1 to work but all other plugin updates work find
